I don’t understand why OP thinks that being suggested other games isn’t a valid response to “I don’t like the core mechanics of this game.” I don’t go to a seafood place to order a burger, and I definitely don’t complain to the manager of the seafood place that they need to start offering burgers.
More dishonest activity.
DId you look in the opening post?
I found it just fine.
Yes, there are not any suggestions in it (again, beyond the “Tastier burgers and fries” generality).
This is just using more words to explain the same desire of a more delicious burger and fries without, again, actually providing anything like an actionable suggestion re: how to achieve that.
This is a few sentences about you plexing in a rearguard and being confused when nothing happens.
This is a question.
This is you answering your own question for the express purpose of whining about how you haven’t figured out how to do logistics.
This is you speculating about the certain loss if you were even to find a fight in the first place, and then going on to ask about the real cost in time of that loss.
This is you complaining about the expectations of corporations in the form of rhetorical questions.
This is you complaining about a false dichotomy.
Where is the suggestion?
If you want some ideas for more intentional PvP:
Bring back the proving grounds before poor Gustav goes full Stainguy, and add some more of those suspect-on-entry exploration sites to highsec, but make them actually worthwhile sites to hit.
Nice fallacy of logic. A popular dishonest debate tactic.
I frequent a local restaurant. In the drive-through, I am recognized by my food order. Meat lover breakfast burrito every time. Problem is, they do not serve meat lover breakfast burritos to my liking. Every time, I give feedback on how I expect mine to be different. Every time, we both are amused instead of irritated. Why? They offer extra cheese for $1 and free salsa. Every time, they charge me $1 for extra cheese and put the green salsa in the bag.
Demanding all Eve Online players to enjoy the game exactly like you is not appropriate. Neither is the hostilities on the official Eve Online feedback forum.
Long post, TL;DR.
Dishonest debate tactics instead of constructive feedback. Misrepresent posts made by the player. Sprinkle fallacies of logic for good measure. Completely ignore actual topic presented.
Just another “Eve Online cannot change!” with insults and “Stop Playing” added for safety factor. Why? Because the player dared to suggest PVP changes which might negatively impact your play style.
Why is this an issue for you? Why do you require salt mines for your personal enjoyment of Eve Online?
If quoting you verbatim is “dishonest” I don’t know what to tell you. Kind of looks like you’re just being evasive by claiming everything that disagrees with you is somehow in bad faith because you’re incapable of furnishing a response.
Again, what change? You have yet to actually propose a change. You still haven’t. What specific mechanical change is supposed to make PvP more palatable for your incredibly babysoft sensibilities?
If “Space Travel” is your big hurdle, what would you like FC to do about that, specifically? What mechanical changes should they make to ease the burden of space travel that you must bear to participate in PvP?
Is something in the water or why are all those crazy stubborn people crawling out of the woodwork recently?
You have been told several times now how you can get a “fair fight” in EVE. It’s already in the game. Just meet up with other people who want that and do it.
If you think thats not enough and you need more mechanical options, please come forward with actual suggestions how to achieve that? It is totally unclear what you even mean. What is a “fair fight” in your book? Why shouldn’t the side that comes to the conclusion it can’t win just try to run? They would be incredibly stupid to burn all their stuff for nothing. Hell, knowing when to fight and when to run is a valid tactic. EVE isn’t a “Duel Simulator”. It’s an open warzone. You succeed by exploiting weaknesses, picking the right times and forging situations to your advantage.
If you want to experience “somewhat even engagements”, either organize them or go look for another game that offers round-based / team-based respawn mechanics where losing doesn’t mean anything rather than the other side gaining a “point” or something.
Funny you should mention “dishonest debate tactics” and then pull out a strawman. I didn’t say you had to like the game exactly like me. I said if you don’t like the core mechanics of a game, you shouldn’t play it. You should find a game you DO like instead of trying to change a game you don’t into something you want.
I wasn’t being hostile. I will probably be in the future since you’re being a jerk.
Yeah but you’re ordering something on the menu, no? My point was that your request goes beyond “can you customize this order” and gets into “you should change your menu to suit me better” territory.
So much fun here on the forum.
Several local restaurants added customer suggestions to their menu; often with good success. Businesses do well to listen to customer feedback. That burrito restaurant I frequent? About 6 month after opening, they proudly added hamburgers to the menu. In most cases, I would be irritated with the customers for suggesting such a thing. However, in this case, McDonalds and the locally-owned restaurant are the drive-through options. When it comes to burgers, they do not compete. One does fresh ingredients cooked to order. The other is McDonalds.
Now, apply this logic to Eve Online’s official feedback forum. Fenris Creations made this available for customer feedback. They do not offer an alternative feedback mechanism open full-time. For some reason, I assume all customer feedback belongs here. Further, I expect customers to limit themselves to comments and feedback. Business decisions belong to the business. In other words, you do not represent Fenris Creation. You have no authority over player feedback. Your job here is customer feedback, not silencing other customers. Leave the menu decisions to Fenris Creations. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
So are the burgers any good?
Great question. Can only comment on the Meat Lovers Breakfast burritos. Those are served all day.
I think ships should be totally reworked, flexible, durable and less streamlined content.
That will make PvP intentional. Too much ISK efficient this, right fit that… That’s not a game, there’s little unknown.
And to be honest, the content needs to change a lot, but fixing ships will make people cocky. I don’t have numbers, but my guess is the best ganks occurred while people felt they were safe.
FC needs to break this stupid small ships are the meta and bring real “fly shiny, shoot better”. It’s better for the economy, it’s better for the whales, it’s better for people farming, it makes everything better.
Forget all that ■■■■ role bonuses and crap, go for the real design revamp, ships that are mean af, each one doing its job right.
I swear if I log in and I see that large artillery not hitting an elephant in space going at 20 km/h I gonna lose it…
Stop having petty dreams, go for it, are they gonna do it? Hell no! But ask like you mean it!
And the sad part is, I’m so right.
I agree with the ship hull selection. Players should feel free to fly whatever ship they want. Not limit themselves to T1 destroyers or Cruisers. Would be nicer than seeing the cookie-cutter multibox fleets.
