What loss in dignity? It’s a pixilated spaceship. Do people suffer a loss in dignity when they loose a game of chess.
Or more apropos, a game of Rock Paper Scissors? No, they don’t.
Here is what mature people do when they loose a ship. They reflect on their gameplay, ask questions and learn from it so their next bout, they are more prepared.
Every time I chase down a MWD/cloak-exploiting Occator after eight jumps of them telling me to “haha eat ■■■■ dumb f____t” in local, I make sure to give them a nice, bold text “good fight!” in local, and sometimes even follow it up with a “You almost had me that time!” in a mail after sending them to a new clone.
I don’t get it, though. I’m so nice to them, but they never say it back to me.
You are afraid that everyone would start playing there. But that would infact mean there’s a huge demand for such an environment in the game. I do agree that they should make some adjustment to for example filaments, so that you can’t trigger the higher tiers in highsec at all for example. Just to name one.
You seem confused I am not a ganker on any of my characters so it would not influence my playstyles so no personal stakes in this (and I have no issue with ganking either). This is all about the principles of the game and risk vs reward balance is one of them.
We often scout for mission runners, if we are in the area hunting the gankers , looking for their scouts we often have the information that the mission runner needs . Obviously trust is a big issue in eve and even though we are trustworthy the mission run has to get to know us and trust us , which I completely understand.
Something we are planning on a small scale is to setup a safe sys for Abyssal running.
Having bookmarks for the runners to open a trace and monitor the travel within the sys , as the pilot finishes his trace we can warp in with protection as he comes out.
With our skill at stopping and interrupting ganks the chance of survival increases dramatically for the runner.
The idea is to see if this sys works and as we iron out any kinks move the sys we protect closer to jita , as this it where pilots buy and sell Abyssal goods .
Again trust needs to be built, so people we know who trust us will be helping test this out.
Because this is exactly what some of the richest players in the game, who are able to throw around 3-billion-ISK Gilas and implant sets need: to be protected by a bunch of misled Alpha account players who were tricked into joining a “police” corporation, and who can barely afford T1 cruisers because their leadership artificially stunts their growth and progression to keep them subservient and ignorant of the game at large.
Lol if you say so , don’t get confused by the fact we except and encourage alphas , some people can’t afford omega so we alway try to work fleets around these people,
no requirement for two accounts both with high skills and one logistic pilot in this corp and if said alpha shows willing we often Plex their account for them.
But think as you see fit like always
And how is our skybreaker training program or our tornado sniper setup which alpha’s can fly stunting anyone’s growth
It’s like training a bunch of child soldiers to fight in someone else’s blood diamond war, and instead of not doing it at all because it’s a terrible thing to do, you give the kids little step stools so they can get high enough to be able to shoot their Kalashnikovs out of the trench.
It’s disgusting, really. You take new players and turn them into meat shields for players running PvE content in multi-billion-ISK ships, and transporting their null-sec bot-farmed spoils for sale in Jita.
The first of which is “Why?”. And I’m hoping the answer is “for profit”. Because if you are going to take the same approach as you do to protecting freighters to this ……………. Well lets just say thats dumb. So how much are you going to charge for people to use your abyss safety system?
Secondly. “is it possible that the very fact you guys are trying to do this will make the system you pick less safe”. I mean you are basically putting up a sign saying “here be the abyss runners”. SO even with you “defending” them its going to be worth the risk for blingy kills. Hell gankers could even start camping the gates to try and stop players getting out with all there abyss loot.
Thirdly. “Why would you support and encourage activities that take pilots out of space?” For all the problematic stuff about what you do the shining positive is that you are usually “content” guys. You are in space interacting with stuff and usually encouraging others to do the same. This seems contrary to that.
Fourth. “Assuming you are going to charge for this service how are you going to deal with pilots that don’t pay? And how is that any different from mining permits?”
Fifth. “Why?”. Sorry……….But im really struggling to get past that one.
So your 1st question : do you think we got nothing from all the freighter saves , we got isk and equipment coming out our ears for our actions , we never ask for isk and I think when people see this they offer to help out . But in the main our criminal fighting activitys aren’t worked around an isk per hour formula, I feel that can mess up some fun to be had,
Ok we never ask for a fee , or scam people with promises of ships replacements , but we do get given a lot of stuff like a fleet of Armageddon’s that we used to stop a Talos gank. Hundreds of small ships and isk , which reminds me, we need to move some of them as the big ganking fleets are unheard of these days , I feel sorry for new players that will never see the likes of massive gank fleets ruling uedama .
