Been around in Eve for 18 years, lost several ships , me and my alts. I’m ok when it is in low sec , null, or whatever dangerous environment. But i’m fed up being ganked in high sec, i’m playing for fun, do the odd mission. That’s what i like in high sec. And yes, it is totally ok for me that gankers can do so, it’s within game regulations. But Eve management can change those rules,. So i’m going to cancel my subscription, and no you can’t have my stuff, and CCP cant have my $ anymore.

That’s a long time for any one game. CCP have clearly been doing things right to keep that level of loyalty.
There are very few games on the market that have continued development over that period or that still have players, playing for that length of time. Ganking has been part of that experience the whole time and while CCP could change the rules to eliminate it, it would be yet another change to the game you’ve enjoyed for so long.
Removal of more content isn’t the way that CCP will keep players.

That’s odd. I know a large number of people who quit too, and none of them cite this as a reason.
HS doesn’t need “fixing.” The area of space that actually does need to be fixed for the health of the game is Low-Sec.
This is what I really don’t understand. The ‘problems’ you speak of are the very reasons I stay. The game is a challenge. If it was easy it would be no fun. I want that challenge. I want the game to be as awkward and bloody minded as possible…because conquering that is the real meaning of success. I think grasping that is the real difference between quitters and survivors.

When CCP hosted their own Wiki, ship crew sizes was one of the lore based articles.
In general:
- Gallente ships have high levels of automation, so they are on the lower range of crew numbers
- Caldari and Ammar have mid levels of automation so sit in the mid-range of crew size
- Minmatar rely more of manual control, so their ships are the high-end of the crew size
The old Wiki article was one of the best on the site, but CCP in their wisdom removed it to default to player-generated wikis instead (eg. EVE-Uni wiki) and a lot of useful lore material was lost from easily being referenced.
