The timing of your outrage is perfect, while the Federation is rarely what it seems to be it is not without the capacity of righteous retribution should your ire overstep the mark.
I am aware of the fact that it is bait, but at the same time, we are more unified when we are at our most discordant than the Federation is on it’s best day. As for strength, as long as we are willing to accept sacrifices that would make most Gallentean pseudo-intellectuals espouse the merits of pacifism, the Federal Navy won’t have any more success today than they did during the seccession war. Regarding the militia, if they’re in such a sordid state I might actually manage to convince my superiors to let me join it.
The Federal hegemony can believe they’re “united” and they’re “strong”. But that’s not true either. Federal “unity” is just oppression of other nations and bullying them into such inefficient management methods as democracy to stunt their growth. If you see, that unity becomes just words on a paper, barely holding egoistical individualists that are governed in a rather weak way to claim any sort of strength.
On the other hand, the State might appear not united at all - we don’t even have single government and for outsider we might look as a loosely bound Megacorporations, in constant fight, at each other throat… This doesn’t mean we aren’t united, it means we are in constant growth and self-improvement. We are still all Caldari, we have same Caldari spirit to us, something Gallente will never be able to comprehend. Two Caldari of different bloodlines working for different Megas, living in systems across whole cluster are way better united even than two same gallenteans living in same apartment block next door to each other! We aren’t individualists, we all work together for common good. And we aren’t oppressed by some hegemony like gallentean democracy that dictates us what to do - we pick our own ways.
You can actually see what DOES Caldari unity means. In early June YC110 all our corporations almost with a single click stopped fighting each other and stood together, shoulder to shoulder to fight the ancient enemy and liberate our Homeworld. Can you see such cohesion, such spirit and unity among gallenteans?
When the time will come, we all again will stand together as one huge FIST so you can taste the Caldari Spirit and our Unstoppable force once more! And it’s going to happen sooner than you expect.
Federation is overdue its existence. We are coming to dismantle that hideous regime and will make you all pay for your crimes.

Wouldn’t that mean all of the Megacorporate Caldari lost their claim to call themselves ‘Caldari’ when they fled the Luminaire system centuries ago?
We shall see Diana Kim when the freedom you seem to dispise so much is threatened how well the individuals of the Federation come together in a matrix of steadfast resolve.

All this bellicose rhetoric and I might have actually been concerned if the State were a serious threat to the Federation.
