Ubuntu 18.04.2, Kernel 5.0.0.23, CPU Amd A8-5600K GPU RX460 4GB 8GB RAM SSD512GB
I been compiling stats on the performance of EVE on separate installs, with horrid results with DX11 enabled, but since its the 227 decided to try it (even though I was sure nothing had been done regarding the CPU usage increase that was reported by the devs as slight, but a LOT more than slight for me) (Its disheartening to see you guys ignore the problem).
Anyways, my test: Grabbed my Praxis and went to do a L4 mission, Cargo Delivery, and then, right after that I went to do a Sansha Refuge in next system and then docked to complete mission. I run this test with Hardware Rendering ON, DX11 64bits in Medium settings (with AA disabled and Post Processing OFF), and Resource Cache Enabled.
Docked… FPS 31-60, VRAM usage at 144MB, CPU usage 57-61% (just one client, do something please), CPU temp at 36C and GPU temp at 55C.
In space: FPS 9-21 (Seriously…), CPU usage 65-69%, VRAM at 144MB and CPU temp 39C, GPU temp at 50C.
I got blackboxes on missile explosions, and on the Sansha Refuge I got welcomed into a Black Box, I didnt notice the blackboxes on missile explosions though, but maybe its because I’m already inside a huge black box?
Any other tests Im always willing to try, but seriously, most people fly potato modes and dont care much, but not being able to run multiple clients effortless as before, BIG problem.
Ah, ok, just for the sake of comparison, same settings DX9.
Docked, FPS 42-75, VRAM at 128MB, CPU usage 53-57%, CPU temp at 38C and GPU at 57C.
In space, FPS 31-61, VRAM at 192MB, CPU usage at 69-73%, CPU temp 47C and GPU temp at 58C.
Hope you can figure that out…
