There is no concept that has remained unchanged from the moment it was conceived. This one is no exception. When New Eden fell into the hands of big corporations, it was deeply influenced by their own original greedy beliefs. For example, the traditional just-blow-stuff-for-fun conception was replaced by the need of progress as if the real fun was making isk, not playing. Thus, shared characteristics begin to appear. (There is also one rare example of how this really changed new player’s mindset through all war stories and conspiranoia placed in their minds replacing the need of self-exploration for rutinary work to feed their corporation who also is their opponents.)
