Oh yes. We got trolls slithering out of every crevasse of this forum, like cockroaches in a dank humid basement.
@Admiral_M_fune Would you like if the security rating of systems is replaced with colors?
Like:
Green for 1.0- 0.5
Orange for 0.4 - 0.0
Red for -0.1 - -0.5
Purple -0.6 - -…
?
At least those colors would mean something.
Maybe. I’d have to think about it but it still would be useless, wouldn’t it? I mean the green orange red and purple would just replace the numbers which are, we have now determined beyond the shadow of a doubt, useless and obsolete.
Not really. The colors would group several security ratings under one color and the color would let you know what general parts of space you’re in.
Although I understand that it wouldn’t change much of anything but at least there wouldn’t be gazillion parts of space ( which are really all the same from a combat point of view ) but 3 or 4 parts of space.
The idea has merit and for keeping the sec rating then I’d prefer your colour idea than those bs numbers that serve no purpose whatsoever. However, I would rather eliminate the idea of “different parts of space” altogether because it’s all the same space but for some menial game mechanics and stuff that the players can figure out in other ways.
I haven’t mined in a long time so things have changed, but security rating in high sec gave a guide on what ores were available and what to expect from the ordinary rats. And since the thread isn’t about ganking, I won’t mention how CONCORD response time has factored for me and my outlaw alt.
Please tell me what made you believe I was posting about mining?
That can be found in other ways than having ridiculous numbers on gates and in the game map. Not only that but I think not knowing what you’ll get ( ratting, mining whatever ) is even more exciting than knowing beforehand.
Yes, that’s what I’m saying. Security rating of systems is only useful for evading CONCORD. It’s useless otherwise.
YES! I completely agree with that. If the players didn’t know what they’d get out of a specific system I think the game would be enhanced and the players would love being part of a universe they’d have to explore just to find out what a certain gameplay would bring them.
To argue security status should be removed is to argue it has zero use, which is strictly not true. There are reasons for it to exist, regardless of if you personally find them helpful in your everyday gameplay. Furthermore, any change to eve has to be justified because of dev time and pos code. Features that do nothing don’t get removed because they don’t hurt anyone
Get over your pre-conceived notion that anyone disagreeing with you is a troll
I won’t deny that the colors idea is a few notches under eliminating the different parts of space altogether, for sure. Yet, it would be a compromise between having stupid numbers that don’t mean much and nothing at all.
Oh you’d be surprised, my friend. The amount of stupidity I read everyday on the net makes his idiocy tame compared to that. This forum has way less idiots than a few others I used to frequent. On the other hand, it has more trolls than any forum I’ve ever been a part of.
So just because he said that he’s upset about ganking? After specifically mentioning that the thread wasn’t about ganking?? Well that’s a stretch. Maybe you should take M’fune at his word and believe it isn’t about ganking. Did that ever occur to you or do you think everyone is a liar?
Now that I see the responses of those bozos? Definitely should’ve left that out
But don’t edit your OP or the editing of it will attract more nonsense and idiocy.
