New Event? Intended?

Does the team read statistics on this event too? If yes, how would it compare to the Gurista or Angel one in terms of mean points gathered/day per player taking part in event in particular areas of activity /high/low/null? I imagine the first few days would be pretty easily the highest count per player in Delve.

Yes, we do. However participation is measured differently, since this event has no NPCs or site. Second day (usually Wednesday) is almost always the highest participation count. I have not had a chance to look at the stats on this one yet.

While I enjoyed this event, the prize at the end (2 shuttle and 2 destroyer SKINs) was kind of meh. It was easier to snag the accelerator which was actually the best prize. It just felt like kind of a letdown after nearly a week of hard work.

The first mining task started out at 100.000 units, and after that it decreased steadily, a somewhat unexpected progression. Still managed to complete it.

Well, I completed the event earlier this morning and I gotta say it was both interesting and frustrating at the same time. I think the most challenging part of this event was being able to locate Asteroid Belts that weren’t mined out by NPC Mining Fleets.

I don’t understand the game mechanics or know what the objective is pertaining to NPC Mining Fleets. I’ve heard it’s based on Faction Standings but what I’d like to know is how does it actually benefit my game play experience? Also while doing this event, I noticed Thukker Tribe Mining Fleets sitting in belts happily mining right next to Sansha and Blood Raider Mining Fleets. Thukker Tribe has negative standings with both of those Pirate Factions, what’s up with that?

Anyway, I’m definitely looking forward to participating in the next event. Not sure but I’m thinking since the overall theme of this event was Redforce -v- Blueforce, that just may continue into the next event. Guess I’ll just have to wait and see.

The first task is to mine 100k units of any ore, Veldspar as a minimum, so 0.1m3 * 100k = 10k m3 volume.
The second task, Pyroxeres as a minimum, its 0.3m3 * 100k = 30k m3 volume.
The third task, Kernite, its 1.2m3 * 100k = 120k m3.

I see progression very well. Couldn’t make myself do step 3 in a frigate. First 2 took an hour every day.

Overall impression, getting to booster was fun. Getting to the box, being highsec explorer was not that fun. Pretty intense though, and fulfilling.

Yeah, in theory I could have mined some random belt ores instead of the nullsec ores. I happened to be lucky with the respawn of a couple of mining signatures and mined a lot of Gneiss to get the qouta.

From a design perspective I’d say the 100k unit limit may not work for casual nullsec miners. #firstworldproblems

Made a mistake in last post, it should actually look like this

  • First task: 0.1m3 (Veldspar) * 100k = 10k m3
  • Second task: 0.3m3 (Pyroxeres) * 60k = 18k m3
  • Third task: 1.2m3 (Kernite) * 30k = 36k m3

Well, while you are busy defending your decision, I have completed it.

However I now Curse My OCD that drove me to do so. I now hate Mining with a passion I never thought I would feel, I hate you for making the last week so unpleasant for me, and I hate myself for doing it.

So OP success ? hardly.

Edit, I do not require a response, or a defence, just letting you know what thoughts and reactions you are engendering in your Players.

I have to agree that mining now ranks just below ā€œpond scumā€ but above ā€œsewerā€ in terms of enjoyable activities in EVE. To ensure fate (or events) never tempts me again I extracted all applicable mining and industry skills. Best use of a handful of skill extractors…

As the saying goes: ā€œI say we nuke it from orbit. It’s the only way to be sureā€¦ā€

Its not about what you enjoy, its about doing what it takes to get a accelerator.

If you did more for those skins it is on you since it was obviously not worth it.

I completely ignored the event and feel pretty nice. :sunglasses:

I’m sure there’ll be another event you can also ignore in a few weeks. :zipper_mouth_face:

Yeah.
Unless this new event will be interesting for me personally (and not because i have to do all the events).

That’s the difference.
