Whenever a Gank takes place at a gate in 1.0 to .5 the jet can would not be accessible for at least 2 seconds after it drops. Oh, here comes the oversized ocean-going vessel, let’s just go for an ocean of tears.
I don’t get it…what does the gate have to do with a gank? The ganker is not using the gate or opening the jet can. The hauler is doing that.
What should be the goal of this “mechanic change”?
Tie it to the security for the system, ie: 1 second per 0.1 security level.

Could be a gate mechanic. Lock the gate for 30 seconds to keep the unlucky from jumping into the fray.
That sounds truly awful. Oops now I’m stuck being easy prey for another gank because the gate got locked from the other side.
The specimens create content, salt and emotional variables to be added to a Frontier module.
Or it just lets people lock down highsec gates for the cost of a cheap frigate. Bad idea.

2 seconds isn’t long enough to be anything other than mildly annoying. I also don’t think looting should be a reflexes check, especially on a single-shard server.
Oh, I always wanted looting to be a process, taking several seconds and if you interrupt it, it fails. It would really add some adrenaline when trying to get your stuff from an MTU or PvP wreck while the combat probes / hostile reinforcements are already on Dscan.
And looting being quite a challenge because you actually would need to hold dominance over the area for at least a short time before you are rewared with the loot.
It would finally elimininate all this pre-aligned instawarp loottheft via wreck-driveby and the loot-transfer through a disposable corvette into a non-suspect DSTs fleet hold.
But yeah, Gankers would hate it, their loot-alts wouldn’t work any more
