We lost a lot of connections to the Triglavians… I think it would be nice if the empires started building new ones, I was looking at perhaps Kudi or Bahromab to Sirseshin, but there could be others, and it could be part of an event that players could participate in?
Building those gates would require the governments on each side of the rifts to cooperate. However, the 4 factions are currently all at war with each other. Only Concord keeps it from spilling into highsec, but that’s literally what Faction Warfare is, capsuleers fighting on behalf of the empires in their wars.
That’s the lore reason. Before asking why CCP doesn’t re-establish the short and relatively safe highsec routes between trade hubs, you should ask why CCP took them away.

No way. Us kybernauts fought hard at Niarja, and our efforts were rewarded with a permanent change to the game. Don’t you dare take that away from us. You can go through Ahbazon like everyone else.
Not true, it’s Minmatar V Amarr and Gallente V Caldari. Amarr are at peace with Caldari and Gallente for example. However I do not think we should have more high sec connections.
So basically you don’t have the balls to go through Abhazon, and you’re too lazy to take the long way around…
If you look at the map, each empire is at war with one neighbor and their other neighbor is the ally of the one they’re at war with. None of that presents an environment of cooperation between the neighboring empires to help facilitate travel.

This has not been true since after Uprising. Gallente and Minmatar are no longer allies, same with Amarr and Caldari. https://universe.eveonline.com/new-eden-news/ceasefire-between-caldari-and-minmatar-followed-by-amarr-and-gallente
True, in terms of war allies (FW mechanics). Though, based on standings, Amarr and Caldari are still 5.0 to each other, as are Gallente and Minmatar. Amarr and Gallente are -2.0 to each other, but Caldari and Minmatar are neutral at 0.0.
Still, I agree: No new HS connections.
EDIT to add: I’ve always thought that Caldari and Minmatar should be natural allies, both being the underdog to an oppressive regime.
It makes more sense when you consider their relative ages. The Caldari-Amarr ”partnership” predates the Minmatar Republic’s very existence by some centuries. Basically the Amarr encountered the Minmatar first and enslaved them. A millennia later they ran into the Gallente, and the two quickly became adversaries. Then the Caldari made contact with the Amarr and were naturally eager for friends against the Gallente. It was centuries more before the Minmatar, aided by the Gallente, rose up and gained some semblance of independence (they were still very much under the Gallente thumb for another century or so).
A cease-fire and a truce don’t mean cooperation. In fact, if that’s all they have it speaks to barely restrained tensions.
The US and South Korea have had a cease-fire with North Korea since the 1950s, but the countries are technically still at war. Not a lot of bridge building going on at the DMZ, is there?
Except that Minmatar and Caldari ARE working to together and Gallente and Amarr *do* have trade relations.
Remember that I am against more Hi sec connections, I am not arguing for that. But your stating them being at war is just false.
i mean the presence of new ships would suggest they are working together and not just a “cease-fire”
Whoa whoa whoa! Did the filaments stop working??
Why would you want direct jump gates? Those triangle heads are always doing incursions into normal space, and you want to make it easier for them?
On the opposite, we need new event to destroy the connections. Not saying we need to destroy any routes, but some systems, in Amarr specifically are just connected to too many other systems. Makes it extremely hard to chase a prey there.
