New region where multiboxing isn't allowed

All multibots except one being stopped on the region gate.

How do you expect to be able to detect multiboxing?

Pretty naive if you think it would work.

Stopped on the region gate?

Cool, I’ll move them in one by one, bypass your silly little restriction, and continue multiboxing.

Do you think we’re incapable of playing with only one alt at a time? The multiboxing is for specific tasks.

If CCP were able to efficiently detect and stop players from multiboxing they would be the first MMO to do so.

Instead CCP embraced it, I assume because there’s no stopping it anyway, so that even legitimate players can benefit from multiboxing in a game where otherwise multiboxing still would be prevalent but only amongst cheaters. And not only legitimate players, CCP themselves too benefits by locking multiboxing behind the payment of extra Omega subscriptions.

To get to the point: even if CCP wanted they couldn’t enforce a rule like you suggest.

Some people would multibox in that region anyway. And other players would be rightfully angry that cheaters defeat the purpose of that region, but should be angry at the person who came up with an idea that was flawed from the start as such a rule cannot be enforced.

They keep most people from multiboxing Alphas, but even that’s easily bypassed with a bit of knowledge and ingenuity.

Multiboxing is cool. What isn’t cool is input broadcasters and scripters. That is the real issue.

The only real way is by IP address, and then you’re screwing people who:

Live in HMOs

Are students at Halls

Many other such examples

If you can install a software client on your customers computer (which the EVE Online client basically is), you can absolutely prevent multiboxing from that machine if you really wanted to. And neither using VPNs nor VMs stuff could prevent it. It’s a common myth spread here at the forums that CCP “could do nothing against multiboxing”. Absolutely they could, but CCP doesn’t want to, they make good money with multiboxing.
