I noticed that J7HZ-F, A821-A, and UUA-F4 regions have been added to the game. Jove space is there as always but I don’t remember seeing UUA-F4 before.
Think it’d be interesting to enter this region only through shattered wormhole systems in frigate/destroyer/HIC sized hulls. The exits from shattered wormholes would land somewhere in the region, so it wouldn’t be the same system exit everytime. Some interesting game play ideas:
There are no pre-built stargates. This area would open up only once player built star gates are part of the game (as part of the POS phaseout). Corps/alliances can own these stargates and set their destination to a nearby star. Use is public, but the gate is destructable, so alliances would have to defend them to hold them. The benefit of owning them is being able to set a small tax to jump for non-alliance members, within a reasonable limit. The corp must own sov to build a stargate.
Corps have to start from scratch to get a foothold in the region. Pretty much all industry would have to be mined locally in any large quantity beyond what some cargo fitted destroyers could bring in.
The area would be unlike other regions with unique benefits. Maybe a resource collection multiplier bonus region wide? Maybe sleepers would roam the region similar to wormholes with new anomolies?
The region would essentially be almost completely player driven from the beginning. All the stations/stargates etc… would have to be built from scratch and there would be no NPC stations at all.
The region would be isolated from large scale transport from the outside so there are no jump freighters to jita to restock things. Everything is local so new trade hubs would pop up. It would be an industrialists heaven, especially in the early days. A true frontier.
Well, despite being incorrect about the systems, the main idea in the OP is still sound and would definitely help create more PvP / PvE content in the game.
Player built stargates were announced 4 years ago. We still havent got any details about them. This year’s EVE keynote sounded like we still have to go through several big steps like the citadel expansion and the upcoming PvE overhaul before we get player built startgates.
So yeah, player built stargates … in 3-4 years, if CCP hasnt stopped creating new content by then because of too few active players.

Thoughts?
That seems to be what was gleamed form Seagull when she mentioned the star gates in 2014. In other interviews that is what it sounds like things are going to. Does this still hold true? we won;t know untill later.
if i’m not mistakes wasn’t there a guy who made it there many many years ago when you could change your clone station remotely and he changed it to one of the stations in that region and he started flying around the place for a while before he was gently ejected from the region
i would sooo love some Jove related events to happen some time soon, been to quiet over there lately… well with the exception of that star going boom and all.
perhaps Concord could declare the Polaris ships a 'temporary threat" open random worm holes and let real pilots test the testers… a 5 day “invasion and Intel gathering event”
got to let the pilots play in the castle walls from time to time.
