New Wardec mechanics - can't wait!

You and the other reciting this mantra also have the belief that whatever incentive you give them, they will never ever attempt to form up using what is the equivalent of a natural fallacy, “it’s like that because it’s like that”, wow great point… It’s as assinine as thinking any kind of incentive will transform a carebear into a PvP player, both are simplistic but it is you who are in one of them. We, we are trying to provide, or at least think out, the right incentives.

What about trying to give them those incentives first and then measure out if you are right?

Or better, tell me what you would do so that you would get 5%, 10%, any amount that is greater than zero, more carebears willing to actually fight wars?

Is your sole contribution to both this problem and to EVE is saying that it is impossible and making sure it stays so?

to get them to fight, they’d have to know in advance that they’d win

Most just literally don’t care about wars, or pvp for that matter.
You overestimate the carebears in any case lol

Not forcing people into something they have an aversion to would be a good start.

Until then are you only trying to beat players into your version of PvP, while perverting the mechanics for those who already enjoy it.

We then have the militias for players who want to get a taste for PvP and who want fight over structures and strategic objectives, instead of just fighting straight out wars with each other, which is what wardecs are for.

I love this one, makes me giggle, what does a war dec do exactly?

Circular argument incoming, 3 2 1 …

Not that I am against war decks as an idea, just before you wrongly accuse me of that, but if you want to hang your reason to not like an idea on that, then you are on very weak ground and I can chant HTFU at you without any concerns… or even irony.

I call people like you gankbears or warbears. You feel that the consequences should only happen to the other guy, not you…

I’m talking about game changes, and not what players do to each other. The game needs to have room for all of us, not just for giggling Dracvlads.

So what you are saying that a higher level game play which is what blanket war decking really is, should have no real consequences because they have an aversion to it, warbears indeed…

And it would create player doing it to player…

A war declaration alone doesn’t do any damage. It’s the same as with cloaky campers or flying
a freighter through Uedama/Niarja. It’s in your head.

Then neither does the risk of having someone come in and blow up your structure and end almost all of your war decs, it is in your head, is it not?

I think we are reaching some common ground here, to think that I could reach common ground with Linus Gorp…

No, because you don’t want them to declare war immediately thereafter again.

It doesn’t force the defender to fight lol

Talk about an assumption lol

Who would have thought… we are actually the pro-PvP ones.

Or they are really that blind to what’s in their mantras.

No. The difference is that changes to the game need to include all players. Whereas what players do to each other should stay as unlimited as possible, because it’s meant to be a sandbox game.

As such should changes to the game not force players, regardless if they’re PvPers or non-PvPers, into a play-style for which they have an aversion. Nobody should be forced to play the game your way.

If you want to force others to play in a certain way then you need to do this in-game and not by asking CCP to do it for you.

That’s the difference.

You’re probably thinking “aversion” and immediately think of “risk” and then “pvp”. An aversion can however be a lot of things, like PvPers who don’t like to mine for example.

@Dracvlad

Let me handle this.

Blanket war deccing is totally fine.
Null sec wanted it, and now everyone gets it.

They may not have expressly intended it, but you know… law of unintended consequences.

God forbid people have to pay attention when traveling down the pipes, lest they get legally badtouched instead of ganked.
Seriously, the pity well has run dry.
Scout your ■■■■. Mark your reds. Pay attention.

And stop crying for the stupid, you’ll be weeping all year.

Living under wardec is not hard, and you should not pity any derp who can’t be arsed to get off their damned couch long enough to not be popped.

An interesting statement when you pull the exact same thing.

Do you have an answer for me today?

Do you intend to dodge and change the topic with a strawman again?

You’ll have to wait and see. Let’s first have your answer.

Alright then. Since you REFUSE to accept that war literally has zero risk for the people declaring it you refuse to admit that there ever was war. Merely fights. Nothing in eve is ever a war to you.

I have to ask you again, and please answer my question. Do you mean by war the war declaration or the actual fighting?
