Welcome to the discussion. As I see it, CCP took out a loan with PA, they failed to make an overall profit to payback that loan. The bank is foreclosing now and selling off the collateral. It really doesnât matter what made or lost profit, they defaulted on the loan.
That would be telling John, you know business bidding is done this way for 2 good reasons.
- It keeps the other bidder guessing what value the âother considerationsâ are worth and it remains a secret so you donât get outbid.
- It also makes for a nice tax dodge, to avoid saying it was cash, stocks, or me doing their laundry.
Also â I told you so â uh I am going to guess it was either number 6 or 9. No I didnât flag you.
Well according to what John told me on the phone over an hour ago. He still thinks this might be a hoax to panic the market and make players sell their PLEX cheaper. When it is announced officially, I donât think the players will panic. Does anyone else think the players will panic over this sale?
@Cypherous I was sort of joking about those companies, because everything they touch turns to crap. I would list other deplorable game companies but there are too many.

I would laugh if NetEase ended up owning CCP. It would be horrible for the game, most likely, but there is sense of irony to the people running EVE Echoes; the outsourced spinoff taking control of the original game.

Nothing more than the same regurgitated information from the first site. In fact, there are now 6 or more blogs doing a copy paste of the first ( highly questionable ) source; MTN Video News.
I find this highly suspect, more likely an attempt to panic the players into selling out. Even should, PA sell CCP, the sale will take awhile. The new owners wonât change the game either. They will do an audit on spending, at most, put a hold on special projects, since according to the Reddit forum ( also linked ) states the major loss is âresearch and developmentâ.
If this is legit, PA needs to find a buyer first. That alone could take until next year. I donât think this blurb is all that much of an update. All I see is smoke and shadows here.
