Newbies do fine, the tutorial is much better. CCP added a lot of extra “your first steps” info that’s actually quite good. Newbies are not affected by ganking much and if they apply braincells a bit losses aren’t much of an issue in general.
The problem is negative nihilist (ex) players shouting how ■■■■ everything is, newbies being pushed into boring playstyles that’s really just for alts doesn’t help either. CCP not advertising as a competitive sandbox is also a fail.
