But i need a reason to logon. I don’t mind paying for Omega, i would actually rather do it… But i don’t have a reason to logon. I log on, read help chat a bit, browse my ships and log off.
I was trying to do combat anomalies in low. Level 3s to make it worth it. I couldn’t do the lvl 2 with a sufix in a cruiser so i brought a battlecriuiser. It got taken down by players.
Is there something i should learn from a mistake here?
Well yeah. If you’re doing anything at all in low, what you’re really doing is playing cat and mouse with players starving for a bit of action and focused on killing you. So if you’re doing anything in low, your goal is actually “I’m doing something to kill time while waiting for some player to track me down and attack me. They won’t attack me if there’s a noticeable chance they’ll lose, so I’m unlikely to get a win in this manner.”
So your goal should really be “How long can I do activity X, while staying always ready to escape, and then escape when the hunters show up?”. If that’s not interesting for you, you need to look for something else to do.
On the other hand, no matter what you do, you have the potential to be interrupted by players looking to blow you up (for whatever reason). So your goals should keep that in mind. You might even make it a goal to be tempting bait, but always frustrating the ones trying to hunt you.
something something sandbox
something something set your own goals
some people pick isk, others pick pvp, some people wanna learn how to do a T3C production chain, others still try exploring wormholes, etc. etc. there’s a ton to do, just pick one that’s fun for you. CCP isn’t gonna do that.
EVE is a sandbox, and lets you be anyone and do anything that you want, except all the sand has been replaced with a few photographs of sand, along with one voice recorder that when played back reminds you that you’re in a sandbox; so you better be really good at origami if you want to achieve anything, and also have to periodically pay for replacement batteries.
I have so many games. I bought 5 on winter sale on Steam. Refunded 1, playing 1/4. There’s “A room of three”. A puzzle game, i recommend it. Didn’t really touch it.
Seems like it’s more a you problem than a game’s problem.
In regards to EVE you can and have to create your own goals. Can be something basic like “make x amount of isk” but generally those basic, numerical, goals tend to be boring and result in boring gameplay. “I want to master T2 production” could be a goal or perhaps “I want to work towards being self sufficient in WH space” or any other things you can come up with.
Perhaps make up some weird goal, something entirely silly. Someone made it her goal to visit all systems in the game, someone else made it his goal to deliver torpedoes to people in WH space and make a cool video blog about it. There’s people who made it their goal to hunt MTU and leave behind a note so they’re now well known. Others made it their goal to “punish” lazy players in whatever way or form and, possibly, profit from doing so.
If you’re not willing to put in effort then you’re not going to do well in a sandbox.
