Tried ratting in a 600dps gila, havens. I GET more isk out of two data sites lvl 1-3 than ratting an hour bcs bounty system de-multiplier. Only 100%+ systems are those with high pvp… . Now safe travel nerfs. Pure Chinese cash shop mmo move to force new omega players toward buying plex packs, least they’re flying t1 frigs only for another year. Am amazed at ppl trying to analyze the changes as if there was any other thought put into it but this will increase our revenue from the plex buyers.
Cloak is used with covert reconfiguration subsystem. You will still be able to use nulification module but without bonuses to it from subsystem.
Red house monkey!
Adding cloaks to modules that can be activated under gate cloak as it allows high ping players to do what low ping players take for granted…ie align/warpto and hit cloak at same time.
Let’s hope not. Last time they did that was the blackout and there are many people who never came back to the game after that disaster.
Oh that’s right. My mistake.
@devs
The changes listed are going to cripple the fleet interceptors while bringing back the Fozzie Claw…
The original split of interceptors into two separate categories was to get rid of the Claw meta and now we will see it’s return with other interceptors becoming almost impossible to use. If the purpose of this change is to get rid of the Windrunner meta fleets than there are better ways of doing so. You could just get rid of hard points or high slots on the fleet (tackle) interceptors and keep them nullified. This gets rid of the ability to passive cloak in systems easily as well. Additionally, you could just modify the current fleet interceptor bonus while keeping the nullification mod as-is.
The primary problem with the current iteration of the nullifier is that it costs over 50% your capacitor to activate it, you lose a low slot, and you also get penalties to your scan res and targeting range… to the extent that your warp disruptor actually extends beyond the maximum range to which you can lock a target. These ships were designed explicitly to be able to do a job and there is no reason to penalize them in this way. If you change the current Role Bonus to “Can equip an Interdiction Nullifier”, and add in a role bonus as follows you can effectively regulate the Windrunner meta while not obliterating the purpose and effectiveness of flying a fleet interceptor. (Stiletto, Malediction, Ares, Crow). This also fits with the Eve paradigm of skills increasing ship effectiveness and would be an easy implementation.
Interceptor Bonus (per skill level)
20% reduction in activation cost, scan res penalty, and targeting range penalty.
10% reduction in reactivation delay and 40% bonus to duration of Interdiction Nullifier
If the goal is to get rid of the Windrunner meta in it’s entirety concerning those 4 ships than the most effective solution is to simply get rid of their hard points. Please upvote if you can see the problems here.
To clarify since I can’t edit…
Gate ganks are the most unappealing new player unfriendly aspect of the game. When I first tried the game out back in the day, 2005, I quit after a gank.
Quit again same reason few years later.
Trying it out again because stuck in the house but not seeing things have improved.
And now, you want to make that worse.
I don’t get your thinking.
t2 shuttles without ability to fit offensive modules should solve that. Nullification on combat ship was a terrible mechanic from day one and it’s great that it is going away (I would just remove it completely rather than have limited ability through module use).
If you want to fight then fight, if you want to run, go play hello kitty online.
CCP : “More destruction is better.”
Me : “Ok, np. Let me destroy my accounts then. Enjoy o7”
This is absolutely critical. I have never known a player from Oceania not struggle to cloak after losing gatecloak without getting instalocked by some EU player with a 10th of their ping. Seriously.
I’ll add my voice to the “stupid change” comments.
If you add the penalty of activation time and cooldown to WCS, why not ease the other existing penalties? Trade off.
If I use them on mining ship, I’m also sacrificing low slot(s) that would otherwise be used for Mining Laser Upgrade, already putting me at greater risk by staying in space longer and making my earnings worse. They say to fly prepare, this was a tool I choose to use to alleviate gankers and I was looking forward to my move to low-sec. Not sure now.
If I can activate the WCS even when targetted and pointed, then maybe. My plan was to gtfo and dock anyway. But like others already said : why the change then?
For the case where I was using it on my little industrial ship. Like many have already pointed, instead of going from gate to gate, I’ll probably warp to a celetial (or dock), cloack (if Omega), and wait till the timer goes off until I continue my route. If the goal is to have another reason to open Project Discovery, then ok I guess…
All in all, you are just going to make the killers half happy and the pacifists half unhappy. And test our patience…
I’m ready for the hate mails now, send them in lol.
Regarding the nullification changes I don’t see what this is supposed to fix?
It’s a straight buff to all the ships gaining the ability to fit the nullification subsystem and for anything that previously was nullified it just slows down your general play style (and encourages bubble spam… is that good?)
Maybe I’m not super into the meta, but are any nullified ships actually good for anything beyond travel?
Fleet ceptors aren’t particularly great compared to combat ceptors without nullification and, you know, good luck actually getting enough cpu to fit the module while still having a competent fit.
T3Cs (outside of specific fits that can afford to wait out the reactivation timer) have better propulsion subsystem choices. So why even bother with the interdiction nullification system. And good god I hope that at least the nullification subsystems will get an added +1 low slot.
The yacht’s the yacht, so I’ll just ignore that.
Then on the flip side you’re putting nullification on to ships that generally revolve around the idea that if you can get targeted you get dead?
Good bye easy relic site kills since every t1 and faction frigate can now fit nullification. Good bye any hope of catching a blockade runner or DST. But heck, interdiction on bombers… yes, please.
As for WCS… just delete them already.
Are those changes not a problem with alpha account getting everywhere ? Before an alpha account couldn’t use interceptors, or had to use an expensive hull to get somewhere in nullsec (yatch)
Now, any alpha account can get everywhere with a worthless shuttle
alphas are limited to warp drive op 3… the module requires 4
How about this patch does not change the T3 nullification subsystem?
Why fk with T3Cs? You already have a decent role and fitting decisions there - either you fit nullification and sacrifice speed and mobility (and in some cases fitting room as well, as medium slots might be worth more than low slots);
Yachts gets the big nerf bat - no more under 2s aling times (maaaybe doable with nomads?) + limited usage of nulification.
T1/Faction frigates/bombers - jesus christ. Kitey ■■■■■■■■ gameplay ftw. And bombers - that’s going to be super oppresive.
Good question…
Honestly I think they don’t even know what to do with it, or replace it with .
The only major benefit I can see from the nullification changes is that people seem to hate it enough that maybe Brisc can finally stop getting elected.
Not since Brandon Lee died, really…
