What a stupid idea, every time CCP posts an update it makes me less hopeful for the future of this game. Next it’ll be fuel for cloaks. I think I’ve got another few months in me before I quit forever

I really hope we get fuel for cloaks thought?

Really excited about these changes as a mostly solo player. Travel shouldn’t be braindead, people were far too safe with the current mechanics. I’m expecting some real cat and mouse encounters.

With regards to activating modules while gatecloaked, I’d also like the ability to preheat while cloaked

I remember when nullification didn’t exist on any ship. Vets call that the good old days.

Of course, ships appeared in a random spot in the solar system on the other side of the gate back then, and gate camps only happened on the inbound side, because you could only warp to with 15km of any gate or station, but then players figured out you could make bookmarks 15km beyond the gate or station in the direction you’d come from warping from the last gate, and bookmarks proliferated to the point of breaking the database, because bookmarks were not sharable, you actually could drag them out of the bookmarks folder to your hangar and then trade them in contracts and you could drag them out again and again to make copies and so there was a profession back then to create and sell bookmark sets for major travel routes in null sec and even low sec, because remember you couldn’t warp to within 15km of a gate or station without bookmarks so bubbles were not needed, and didn’t even exist, so low sec was just as dangerous as null sec without bookmarks, but as I was saying everyone had bookmarks and it was a huge problem so they nerfed bookmarks and allowed warp-to-zero but then they had to figure out how to make combat happen again and so bubbles were invented to stop people from warping to zero or warping away from a gate on the other side because they also nerfed appearing in a random spot in the system on the other side of the gate but then people who didn’t want to fight were nerfed too hard so they invented nullification because, frankly, bubbles suck and are just an easy button for people who want to gank helpless travelers, so to make a long story short maybe they’ll bring back appearing at a random spot in the solar system on the other side of the gate to balance with the fact the nullification is going to be nerfed to uselessness for anything but Leopards.

shuttle being nullified just boosted BOTTING missions pullers by a huge margin as they only need a 50k isk ship to be safe to any reliable player interaction, this game need less way to avoid others players, not more

enjoy the swarm of 1 day old pilots with shuttle In venal/stain/delve, they don’t have to skill the malediction anymore

If its about nullified combat ships why not simply tie nullification to the weapon timer?
You did a hostile thing, your nullification stops working.

Problem solved without all this crap which will hurt people simply wanting to travel around, while CCP regularly talks about wanting people to spread out more…

While i do agree that changes are needed on this topic, it really fucks over anyone who’s doing any kind of small/medium-sized gangs, and seems to be only beneficial to nullblocs.

The bonuses to interceptors are not good enough. 150 seconds CD makes it impossible to hunt anything as it means that nullblocs will just bubblefuck gates even further, essentially making super-ratting completely risk free in 99% of cases.

I don’t mind nerfing nullification, but 150 seconds CD?? Come on… And nerfing interceptors target range is also BS imo.

So DSTs that are already massively tanky, with 60k m3 cargo and a warp core strength bonus so they can’t be pointed…now also get to be nullfified? And every ship where nullification actually mattered gets a huge unnecessary nerf?

How many gallons of horse glue did you huff in order to come up with this idea

It destroys the fleet ceptor as a specialized tackle ship; which is already quite difficult to actually do effectively; and if you believe the fleet ceptor is just a disposable ship then theres no reason for the change anyway…

It’s not dogma, either. It’s just my opinion. You may have a different one. Nothing wrong with that. But in a game like EVE, where there’s risk every time you undock, I think my view is in line with the tradition of the game, and a 100% safe way to travel is not.

The problem, as I’ve noted, and was said - and I disagree with the contention that those words don’t tell you anything - is that it is too easy for combat capable ships to elude gate camps and attempts to stop them from doing things, and it is far too easy for these kinds of ships to avoid any kind of combat they don’t initiate. The goal is to make travel riskier and make it more active. You can’t just grab a taxi-ceptor and assume you’ll be 99.99% safe anymore. You have to be paying attention to your surroundings and physically do things as you move, or you’re likely going to get caught.

What about them? They aren’t 100% safe, they cost money to drop, they cost money to use, they cost fuel to use, and they generate a lot of content.

The players did.

There shouldn’t be any way for me to get there 100% safely without some drawbacks either.

Scroll up and see what ISD Golem posted - it looks like they’re going to allow this module to work under a gate cloak, which is what I said needed to happen earlier.

Look folks - some of you really hate this change. That’s fine, as it’s not what I wanted either, but it’s what they’re testing (and have not yet implemented, so it’s not something that can’t just abandon if it doesn’t work). If you don’t like it, speak up and let CCP know you don’t like it and way. Be persuasive, don’t just whine and name call, and there’s a good chance they’ll listen to you.

I take the interdiction changes back… bubble both sides of a gate is a 100% capture rate. Makes the game unplayable.
