I’m not saying that was a ‘bad’ choice, or even a ‘wrong’ choice. It was their choice, and they had every right to make it. But you can’t claim their departure was some noble move to preserve their culture as it was… because they clearly didn’t.

That said, I’m often told that the Caldari tend to take the viewpoint of ‘butt out of our affairs, outsider’. It’s good advice for people not of our Tribe who seek to natter on about how one of our Clans chooses to live, too.

Personally, I would be hesitant to lecture anyone else about freedom, were I the CEO of a corporation that works to supply materiel to Caldari militia pilots—allies of the same Amarr that still hold trillion of our people in bondage.

Your people’s ancestors fought for their freedom during the Great Rebellion precisely because they refused to let others destroy their culture and tell them how to live. My people did exactly the same and when we had to choose between Caldari Prime or the survival and autarchy of our culture, we made the right choice irrespective of the hardships it brought. If the sacrifices your ancestors made for their heritage and autonomy mean so little to you, then stay on your planet and be erased by your masters, but stop pretending that your clan did not make the wrong decision solely because it was the path of least resistance.

Gee, it looks like it’s the Caldari making the judgment call about a group’s decision on which parts of their heritage to cling to.

I’m simply saying that insisting ‘We left to keep our culture’, when a) the folks who stayed don’t seem to have lost it, and b) the folks who left have developed a new way of life, and thus, a new culture… isn’t true.

But thanks for lecturing me about the point I’m not making. And, in fact, one I’m telling an outsider she has no right to make about where it concerns members of my Tribe.
