The current deals offer omega and 2 MCTs per month. But, before it offered only 1 MCT and it was also far less in cost. This deal was the main way I was subscribing. Now, I cannot justify the cost as it is too painful and the extra MCTs would be going unused.
There needs to be alternative options. Please beg CCP to reinstate the 1+1, 3+3, 6+6, and 12+12 versions of the omega+MCT. Or, remove the new options. If people want to train a 3rd character per account, they can buy it on the market.
I think most people can only multibox 2 accounts effectively. For me, that would be my main pvp character and a helper alt like a bubbler. Then I have a main mining character with his helper alt.
That’s plenty for most, and it seems the new deals are a bit overkill. I’m only hoping for them to include the old deal as well, but my guess is that it would sell better, but bring in less money. And I’m sure the marketing department doesn’t care if the NEW deal sells less, if they’re getting more money for it all since it cost significantly more.
I think it’s more that for a while there Skill Farms were extremely profitable. You could buy extractors, PLEX and MCTs on the market, PLEX the account and still show a sizeable profit at the end of the month.
The first time I used an MCT it was to make a transport ship alt. Being in an always war decced corp makes it very useful to have a high sec alt who can fly a DST and has good trade skills to do my Jita work for me.
Now, I’m going to build a PI alt for the third slot. Not sure what else I will add after that. Obviously Magic 14 and then I can go from there.
Sure, I can’t multibox them. But I will always have access to what they provide as long as I keep my one account omega.
I’ve trained up a complete, separate, Krab’Krew across all my accounts. That way, my main combat pilots are available in my home wormhole for pvp funsies while I have a complete separate set of alts that are capable of making me ISK in my bearhole without having to fly main combat pilots to said bearhole when I want to bear.
the additional slots are mostly being used for additional probing alts. can never have enough probers imho.
I realize alts have their uses, but many were happy simply having 1 extra alt training. The price was fine and it was easy to manage. I feel MCTs are an extra item for your account, not an extra 2 items that you’re forced to pay for even if you don’t want.
