I avoid that by having high barriers and usually saying no when I don’t want to.
Friends don’t mind … but you need to avoid having so many …
… that you can’t afford having isolation …
… and having many usually means most aren’t friends anyway.
We really live in different worlds and mine’s not particularly good or perfect, actually.
I try to manage my social life as well as I can …

I mostly find friends outside of my hostile computer game hobby. Massage school is a good place to make friends. Musicians tend to be alright, but kinda flaky. Art school friends are the worst.

Ha, that’s hit&miss. Last actual musician I knew was a carebear narcissist. Literally. He even ranted about suicide gankers like the typical carebear + narcissist, making them look bad and himself subtly look good. He was a good guy in general, actually, but our local lockdown combined with his unintentional unemployment more and more showed a side I just didn’t want to deal with.
