More so to op. Their was a time you had to train learning skills before you could effectively train combat skills fast so count yourself lucky these days you got it handed to you on a silver plate.
OP, what even do you talk about? 22-23 days? What’s that?
I have been waiting to even start training certain skills since September 2018, when I remapped. I did it deliberately and with a plan in my mind. I wait for 5 months by now, and I will wait another 7 months to even start training certain skills. Do I have sense of progression and sense of acomplishment? I do.
To your original post - you don’t need the level 5 skills in order to enjoy EVE. Just play and train in the meantime. If you don’t like it, then maybe play other game. There are plenty of choices. But do not cry in forums and try to cripple the game for the rest of us!
If you care about something, then 23 days of training for that is not a big deal.
Is this what you want, OP?
People bring up subjects in eve that have been discussed many times. Because the idea is new to them certainly does not mean the idea is new.
There is something in between.
You can use meta weapons with medium skills at level 1.
This is disingenuous at best. You can be pretty competitive at frigate level within a day. Pretty much out the box in fact.
Obviously not though.
Eve’s passive progression is one of it’s best assets. Everyone trains at the same rate whether they are in a full time job with family commitments or a bot.
Eve’s players tend to be older and in professional careers compared to other MMO’s.
Don’t like it? Fork out the cash for injectors and support the game.
Or get out. Whatevs.
Just so we are all clear, it used to be that you had to train all the weapon skills, and their proficiency skills in order. In order to have T2 battleship weapons you had to train up the chain to T2 small and medium first.
Also, we didn’t have the option to do a fair chunk of that training for free.
Also, we didn’t have the option to skill inject even if we wanted to.
Also, as we accumulated SP we actually had to pay more every time we died.
Also, we had to trudge up snow up hill, both ways, to get to Jita.
I am just sayin’ you have the wrong complaint my friend. The training process is designed to slow you down. The game is slow. This isn’t a F2P gimmic, this is fundamental to EVE.
Additionally: if you think this train is bad, woe be unto you when you get to caps.
OP has zero argument. This is the way the game has been since it launched. Count your blessings that you don’t have to endure LEARNING SKILLS. Also, you can invest $1,000’s into vaporware called Star Citizen if you’d like…
They should bring back clones
I would like to see them bring back the learning skills
You should have been around for learning skills, what we have now is a dream compared to those days.
