On the Reality of Mining Permits

Yes, but not painfull enough.

To @DrysonBennington getting plucked like a chicken is sexual. Not gonna even touch that one, don’t really want to find out what goes through his mind, but I doubt it is worse than toe collecting.

The Whittle Gankers must have pulled their sleepy sleepy time mats out and had a nap.

Maybe crackers and milk when they wake up.

Lets be quiet and let the gankers sleep right now.

There are elite in high sec? Look, high sec has concord which is all the protection one needs. If you want to feel completely 100% safe, this isn’t the right game. There are other games out there that have zero PvP. Star Trek Online is one of them.

I’m not going into Null, but I at least don’t expect to feel 100% safe in High. If I did, I’d tell Zaera what system I’m in and my ship would have a giant “KICK ME” bumper sticker on it. No. high Sec isn’t supposed to be safe. It wasn’t safe when I played 12 or 13 years ago and it’s not safe now. People are supposed to take precautions. Me? I tanked out a Skiff and I park next to Hulks and Mackinaws (and the occasional Venture).

Lol. I vaguely recall when that happened. He’s been angsty since.

I wasn’t going to say anything. :eyes:

You think that’s odd… I don’t even take the ear collector contracts. For some reason they never listen.

And don’t even get me started on that one dude that collects teeth. He tried to show me his work in progress idol of some random old god he plans to use to begin the second coming of said old god.
:tooth: :tooth: :tooth: :tooth: :tooth: :tooth: :tooth:
I felt like I needed to bleach my eyes with flouride toothpaste.

The toe collectors are quiet, they don’t say much (usually). Occasionally one of them might squeak out an uwu as they walk away. But hey, not my problem. I just supply em, none of my business what they wanna do with them after that.

We’re running low on modulated strip miner modules.

Note to self;sell the blasters and buy more miner lasers

If that statement was true, then why doesn’t Concord spawn in and stayed spawned when notorious gankers that have constantly ganked in the same system, over and over again, appear in Local? With as many Concord ticks that Safety has triggered, AI should determine that Safety is going to try and gank, which means Concord would need to deploy to stop the ganks.

Would be a pretty ingenious idea, re-tool Concord AI to deploy if a known constant ganker enters the system. Concord’s AI would respond to each member that enters a solar system based on Concord ticks, the more ticks you have + your security status would give Concord a chance to deploy roll. If you have a sec status of 5.0 but have over a 1,000 Concord trigger ticks, Concord could roll the die. If Concord beats the pilots anti-trigger, Concord deploys, sends a message across the screen about such and such a pilot is under suspicion. "(Pilot) remain where you are, a Concord Major and her fleet are on their way to your location to scan your ship. If you run, you will die running. "

This is the era of Artificial Intelligence, which games need to include and constantly update with new parameters for interactions to create a more lifelike appeal to the game.

Concord would also roll the corruption die every so often. If Concord’s corruption roll defeats the Non-Corruption Concord roll, then Concord’s reactions times would be doubled for an x amount of time.

When the Corruption die is rolled and Corruption wins, the system goes into reduced security status loss. Basically, you lose less status for ganking ships, plus pods. The Corruption die could last five hours or three days, during that time pilots have the chance to run Concord missions to get the systems corruption level back up to normal. More double the LP and ISK earned from running the Concord anti-corruption missions.

Need that Permit signed?

Why should NPCs protect anyone?

Sheesh…after all this time has it not yet dawned on you that Concord are corrupt and do not exist to proactively protect anyone ? You’re talking about a ‘police’ force you can hand a 100m backhander to and they’ll look the other way when you attack someone’s citadel. Concord do not care if there’s 57 Safety gankers in the system…as long as they abide within the corrupt rules. And at the end of the gank…Concord make a nice killing from clone soldier tags too and the corrupt ’ Concord Fee’. You think they are weeping because someone lost their Retriever ? All those lost Retrievers pay for the annual Concord Police Ball, and their Xmas turkey.

But that’s AG’s “job”, right? :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

Where did I lose you? I said it’s not supposed to make you 100% safe. Go play Star Trek Online if you want that.

And why does it bother you to be ganked anyway? Your ship costs under 1 million ISK. You said it yourself that you’re Alpha. You can’t fly anything more expensive than a Venture and you get those for free as a new player. It costs you nothing to replace your ship.

Should? Because you deem it so?

Yeaaaahhhhh… Except if I remember correctly, the last time ‘AI’ was used to attack player corporations… There were some Drifters attacking null blocs… that was a big bad no no.

Not all Concord are corrupt. Saying all Concord are corrupt is the same thing as saying all law enforcement are corrupt, which is not true.

Oh, well. The total overall agenda is to create dynamic game play.

If the Null blocs whined about Drifters attacking in Null bloc and got their way, because their style of play was interrupted, then Eve Online has truly become nepotic play-to-play.

Which Null Bloc alliances complained first and foremost?

Yeaaaahhhhh… Except if I remember correctly, the last time ‘AI’ was used to attack player corporations… There were some Drifters attacking null blocs… that was a big bad no no.

The Drifter issue has nothing to do with Concord in High Sec.

Perhaps not…but, for the most part, just like real police, they are reactive, not proactive. In essence, they are crime janitors there to clean up the mess after a crime, not prevent it. Law enforcement have no real authority to do anything UNTIL a crime is committed.

(No disrespect to my law enforcement friends. Even they acknowledge this as fact)

Then its up to the citizen to stop the crime before it happens and then let the police fill out the incident report.

When I worked as an armed security guard / shift supervisor, there were numerous times that I had to pro-active to stop fights from breaking out or theft from occuring.

Whether in a game or real life, I still have the same morals.

My personality doesn’t flip.

I once charged up a French beach and machine gunned 400 Germans. Oh…wait…that was Medal Of Honour, and those pixels did not have a wife and kids waiting at home.

That’s fine, Dryson. Are you certain, though, that you’re not simply trying to force others to conform to your no doubt sincerely cherished moral and ethical stance?

Neither does mine; but it is sufficiently well-grounded that it can take a controlled vacation now and then!

Then as a man of morals you must realize that mining Aikos asteroids without a valid permit is stealing. And thus the punishment of your ship being popped and the miner podded is an act of supreme justice.

We can’t ignore the fact of why the ventures are targeted in the first place.

in the scriptures it was written that James315 at one point was a miner that was working on asteroid belts to pass time when he was off shift from driving trucks. He was a normal player a good egg by society’s standards, until another miner shot him down for the asteroids bounty -his- asteroid and this created a chain of events that went down in history. As you can see it was a miners greed that had created there CODE problem and it’s there greed today that causes there SAFETY problem. At least this is the story that turns up the most frequently which leads me to believe there is a kernel of truth to this. It is a sensitive topic hotly debated by scholars but I believe this to be the truth.

Remember, Always

You think your the hero of the story but on the contrary your villain, your helping thieves steal which makes you a bad egg.
