You talk a big game, but even your mistress passed up the chance to take down my ship. You all had your chance. Like I said, too much machine. And why would I ever buy a mining permit? After all, the one I made myself with my own signature on it was free and never expires.

I wouldn’t be too cocky. I’ve seen cases of gankers mustering a fleet of 40 Talos, each one capable of 2000 DPS. And I don’t believe even your mega EHP whatever could survive 80,000 hit points a second.
It was a Venture and a Cruiser that blew up that Retriever. I fail to see how that means that a Venture can take out a mining barge. The cruiser is capable of taking out the drones and preventing the mining barge from escaping while the Venture gets to pretend to help.
So yes- a puny undefended Venture is puny. No mining barge or Exhumer would ever lose to a solo Venture unless it simply wanted to.
Oh wait… was I not supposed to actually click that link and read about the fight? I’m sorry! Let me try again… “Umm… yes! Ventures are all powerful!”
Yeah, I’ve seen those videos too, but coordinating that many people and getting that many people to log on with the goal of destroying a mining barge that’s 40 jumps away is not an easy feat anymore. You can’t just summon that many ships. You have to get the players behind those ships to want to log on and join you. Those days are few and far between. Don’t you get it? The old days of Eve are gone.
Absolute Will gets it done, because their goals are to destroy structures and defend against PvP. Those are stronger motivators. “Oh! I see a Skiff! Let’s get 30 players to log on for a 40 jump run on it!” That’s not a strong motivator.
Can it happen? Sure. Are the odds good? Not even close.
Um…in case you hadn’t noticed, the Venture did 95% of the damage. The ‘cruiser’ was simply a Guristas NPC. I merely presented one example of many. You can find numerous solo kills by Ventures every single day on killboard. Some people even deliberately use a ‘poor, defenceless, Venture’ as bait.

It’s not 40 jumps if they go via lowsec.
And when I used to mine in Azerakish, which is about as far away from AO HQ in Oipo in highsec as it gets, I’d still see Safety passing through now and then.
Ironically there are often more people in the ganker channel than there are in the AO Intel channel. There’s a lot more gankers out there than you think.

Can not have high expectations of someone who can’t even tell the difference between an NPC and a player on a killmail… however as he is a miner the line is kinda blurry for his kind so maybe you can’t blame him too much.
