The pilot of the other ship, told me that I was a noob, 12 year old psychopath and my whole existence revolves around making other people’s lives miserable. That I should leave people alone, especially in low sec where they are farming FW plexes because I wasn’t in the militia.
They threatened to have me banned from the game. and filed a complaint to CCP.
Ok well it USED TO BE the drake but now I guess I’ll have to settle for the second coolest ship in all new eden.
I’ve put off training for marauders more than once because of it.
It can go missiles, it can go autocannons, arty. It can go shield, it can go armor. So much versatility in it. So many options. When you see one you can’t make too many assumption as to how it is fit.
I like my HAM Loki, but wouldn’t say no to fitting cannons or howitzers. Or going armor
It’s my swiss army knife, it’s my guilty pleasure. Stealth, lvl4, missiles, lasers, boosting, logi, c3 holes, it does it all and it allows for experimenting like an old erector set. No, it doesn’t mine or compress - go away.
(and now it even has a great skin, finally !!)
And then, of course, there’s the Purifier/Hound/Manti/Nemesis . They wreak havoc - on a large scale and that not always on reds (soft snickering in the background). They thrive in chaos, they reward patience, they punish mistakes like no other ship. And they’re the best fun I’ve ever had. It’s impossible to beat the emotions of the killstream when they’re successful (well, apart from successfully smartbombing, but that is a very rare thing these days).
Starburst and cloak up !
For me it’s the Prophecy, or Space Turkey. I started playing when the Trinity trailer came out, and it just looked so good. Being clueless, I started in Caldari space, worked my way up to the Caracal, and just before moving to the Drake decided I’d go for that really cool ship in the trailer, and switched to Amarr skillsets. Back then it was in a really bad place, being identical to the Harbinger in playstyle, with far less damage but more tank, making it less desirable. I hated the Harbinger hull, though, and flew my Space Turkey ratting Sansha battleships in nullsec. Anything it could do, a Harbinger could do better, but I was proud of my “Garudamas”. Upgraded to an Absolution for a few months before I retired in 2013 for output comparable to a Harbinger, although it felt like cheating.
Just restarted playing a few weeks ago, and the Prophecy has changed so much. It’s now more effective with a droneboat role, and no longer the Harbinger’s fat little brother, but somehow a lot of the magic is gone without those heavy pulse lasers. The Absolution has changed to the Harbinger hull too, and I had to get rid of it. Trying to find a way to make the Prophecy fun again, maybe with HAMs or autocannons. It’s not like it got any bonus to damage from the lasers before anyway…
It’s always fascinating to hear about others’ favorite ships and their thrilling adventures in New Eden!
The Pacifier takes the crown as my ship of choice, and here’s why:
Aesthetic Appeal: The tri-wing design is simply amazing. It’s sleek, elegant, and every time I undock, I take a moment to appreciate its visual appeal.
Cloaky Capabilities: I’ve always had a soft spot for cloaky ships. The ability to remain unseen and choose when to reveal yourself offers a thrilling element of surprise.
Versatility: Its fitting options make the Pacifier a wildcard when encountered. Opponents can never be entirely sure of its fit, and that unpredictability gives it an edge.
Security Status Bonus: The bonus gain is a neat feature that can be quite handy, especially when navigating through certain spaces.
Downside: If I had to point out a flaw, it would be its price tag. For what it offers, the Pacifier is a bit on the expensive side, even if it is fairly unique in its class.
All in all, it’s the combination of design, function, and versatility that endears the Pacifier to me. Every pilot has that one ship they resonate with, and I’m glad the Pacifier is mine.
Looking forward to hearing more ship tales from fellow capsuleers!
My favorite ship is the Osprey Navy Issue. But not just any OSNI, my favorite is a particular OSNi. The Leila Khaled, named for the famous Palestinian freedom fighter.
Three weeks ago, I undocked her from the Perkone factory in Uemon, ran the gate camp at Paala, and flew her across the Drone Regions to MJ-F59. Mission objectives- to get 100 killmarks from solo PvP before leaving the system, and collect as much loot as possible (90% drops ).
Leila Khaled currently has 53 killmarks, a personal record. In addition to the 53 ships, she has also killed roughly 30 pods, some with implants, and an assortment of mobile tractor units, some with nice loot. I’d tell you exactly how many, but zkillboard seems to be having a meltdown at the moment.
Never has a ship and fit served me so well. The Pandemic Horde standing fleet tries to take the Leila down. They chase us around all day long. But they are just completely outclassed. They can’t touch me. I operate with impunity.
I look forward to my 100 killmarks. I can feel Leila’s hull quivering with anticipation. All it will take is time. 2 more weeks I figure.
You know, I love my legion, and the fessy. But I also really love my pally.
Odd, because amarr frigates rank low on my favorite solo pvp ships. With the exception of the Tormentor. That little ship is fun. Sad it looks like a deranged croissant tho.
