One-click ideas for possible QoL improvements

I wish to share some of my ideas regarding possible little QoL improvements to the game. I’m a natural born miner so let me be the voice of the many having OCD in some extent :slight_smile:

New ore compression shortcut key is really convenient, why not making it even more better? As soon as we press the ore compression button, it also stacks all in our inventory, simple as that is but our OCD resolves peacefully :slight_smile:

Also also, way too many drones left, abandoned in the cold void and eventually became the rogue drones! To stop this blasphemy; while our drones are out, as soon as we click or press the button to warp, it also sends “recall drone” command and your drones try to reach your drone bay while you are still aligning, it doesn’t matter if your ship is so good in aligning, it’s your problem after that point.

These are my humble suggestions, let me know if they are really so good.

I disagree. You already get a big warning telling you that you’re leaving your drones. Maybe there are other capsuleers that hunt drones and you wanna kill their gameplay.

Kenny Rogers taught us not to count our money while we’re sitting at the table. There’ll be time enough for counting when the evening’s done.

As long as the ore is compressed which saves our hold from getting too full, we don’t need it to be stacked. I never have my mining hold open. I simply keep an eye on that cargo indicator on the UI. When that gets up there, I hit the compression button. I stack it later when I’m moving it out into the station warehouse.

You get a warning and a button to stop and recall drones.

If you can’t click that button, it’s your problem after that point.

For the compression, how about one of these instead:

  • you’re already in range of a fleet-compressor, so what you mine is already compressed
  • if too strong to have baseline, maybe have a rig provide this effect?

The shortcut is still handy then, to use when fleet compression is just starting and you’ve mined some already.

This would help hulks a bit too. If you get 2 lucky crits in a row, their ore hold can fill in 20 seconds.
