Operation Magic School Bus Fund Raiser

Heh, your posting here is irrelevant, especially since you’re not doing anything positive to help gain and or retain players.

Typical DMC reaction. You can’t handle different opinions do you?

Heh, the same can be said about you.

I support the cause o7

forgot to mention… don’t sell them yet.
Wait a month, two, maybe until February.

While true what is more important is the interaction where new players run into older ones putting in active effort to help said newbies. They’re not used to that too much in most other games, it’s the same with helping people in Rookie channel.

This.

What Mike is doing isn’t about giving away free stuff.
It’s about sending a message.

I’d not throw three billion ISK in plex (probably worth five or more within two, three months, hinthint)
at someone who doesn’t actually deserve it.

Great Idea!!!

Shame om CCP for not allowing you to advertise in NEW PLAYERS HELP!

No, that’s a good thing. What happens when you go to a room filled with people telling them that you’re giving things out for free? They run over you, demanding to get some. He’d be losing his stock on a single day, maybe two and it’s absolutely guaranteed that many of these people didn’t really need it anyway. Not to forget that, with the low retention rate, most of the things they’ll get will just be stuck in a hangar forever.

Good Points that I failed to consider…

Not only that but it’d get abused and would overshadow people asking for help.

The other argument that was well made to me is that while I am legit what would make me the special chosen one who could break the rules? Others would demand their time in Rookie Chat and might be less . . . honest.

Not sure what prompted this thread to get bumped up again but I am glad it did. Partly cos I didn’t see it the first time around but MAINLY…

With all that is going on at the moment, all the “me me me” and the complaints & compensation demands etc seeing this… idk… seeing this just makes things a bit better.

Instead of “I demand xxxxxxx for being slightly inconvenienced!!!” we have a dude saying “Hi, I would like to do something nice for another year so if any of you could help out a bit that would be nice of you”.

I just feel a bit lighter for knowing this. I won’t pretend I am going to make a huge donation and if/when I do I certainly don’t want it noted or recorded. I just want the bus to keep running cos maybe a newbro/newsis/newnon-linear-human gets something and maybe they don’t but… even if they only hear of some random guy they have never seen doing something nice for people and not ripping them off / scamming them / ganking them / dragging them into a slave-corp / stealing their stuff or whatever else - just being nice to people - maybe that is enough.
Maybe they think “hey, this game may be tough and sure it looks like there is a lot to learn and yeah like everywhere else there are dicks (even if EVE seems to have more than most) but you know what - it isn’t all stacked against me. I like this game and so if not 100% of the people here are just sh1tting on everyone else maybe I will stick around after all”.

Sometimes, it honestly is nice to be nice… (not for me ofc, I hope you all explode unexpectedly and ragequit but that is just me doing EVE ‘properly’. Btw - don’t forget to contract me all your stuff before you biomass too you lame snowflake etc etc).

Thanks for being a better person than me Mike. It takes the pressure off ;-p
