How would the ingame economy function under your idea?

Do we still have Jump Freighters, or did you not also express a desire to get rid of jump bridges and cynos?

As I see it, the centralised hisec markets would collapse. Moving materials in bulk would take weeks.

Watch the costs of everything skyrocket.

If you want to play lobby games, go play a lobby game. EVE is a persistent universe sandbox. You adapt to the game, not the other way around.

More expensive ships and modules combined with exponentially longer travel times means fewer people in space to catch and shoot. That’s assuming a huge chunk of the playerbase doesn’t simply quit the game.

Your grand “idea” to generate content would wind up doing the exact opposite.

Every one of your ideas has been comprehensively shot down as being unspeakably dumb Mr I-Know-Everything.

This isn’t true. Sounds like somewhat of a fanboy with Stockholm syndrome take.

If CCP weren’t responsible for our content, we wouldn’t have missions, progressive DED quest chains, FW stretch goals, et cetera. We wouldn’t even have a centralized currency like ISK. Players would instead be able to issue their own currencies, and would be handing out their own missions to other players. But that’s not how the game works. Everything revolves around the content that CCP developed, and the only true open-world element in the game is the ability by players to compete over this content to decide who does it, and where.

Then you can argue that even the real world is not a true sandbox, as I‘m hard limited by physics and soft limited by law and “content” provided by the society I’m living in.

In EvE you can follow the script and play the provided PvE content in the intended way, but we all know it’s boring. Player interaction with other players or the environment is the non-scripted part players have to arrange/organize themselves. In as you know often unexpected ways.

Still we have enough freedom to do so, even though CCP tries hard to micromanage the emergence away.

Well apparently not, since something like 80% of the game’s population plays the game that way, with the majority of the players who play that way who are vocal in the community in some form advocating for additions to said gameplay, and restrictions on components of the game that we traditionally consider to be sandbox-like.

Not a single one of whom I’ve heard say here anything I’ve also heard within the game itself. Which is very telling. The ‘vocal’ whiners are really just a very small group of malcontents who’d complain regardless of what changes were made. On par with people who wander down the street shouting at the lamp posts.

Corp chat, Discord…waay more communication than on the forums. Most of the ‘noobs will leave if xyz is not done’ issues never get discussed as everyone knows they are nonsense. Those venues contain the REAL issues in Eve…not the totally invented ones that get regurgitated week after week by forum malcontents.

The forums do not generally represent the real Eve at all.

Most issues never get discussed because the players quietly turn off and uninstall the game. They play for three weeks, take a pause to look at their Venture mining a Veldspar rock, glance at their wallet that says 9,178,562.43 ISK, look at the market price of a Drake and the skills they need for it, and then they’re done.

Would that scenario be an alpha clone state? Also why would a new pilot be needing a drake? Max would be a t1 cruiser for at least 6 weeks of mission running before getting into level 4 with the agents.

Perhaps the design was meant for longer than a month to complete their first 1 billion isk?

That’s a nice story…but you have zero evidence it is actually true. Not least because every one of us here obviously got past that alleged phase so clearly it is possible to do so.

Yep. and given how eve is set up…other means do not pay the bills nearly as well.

SKIns…for many we don’t see our ships. Zoomed out, tactical view. All I see are blips with lines and arrows for trajectory on a screen.

And they FOMO’d this to the point of pointlessnes, imo. Many skins I do wnat are now market only. FOMO to bait sales/sub I missed while away. And not cheap either on market now.

For 2 billion I could have that killer skin! Or I could have a fitted widow. The latter is where upwards to 2 billion went of late.

I don’t need it now, but maybe soon ™ lol. Or its price adjusts later for resale profit chances. I got it for a nice price so that could go either way.

and new skins…don’t thrill to some. The only “I must have this skin” I recall getting was for my Kronos. The head hunter skin of Kronos is superb. No regrets with that buy there. That ship for pve I can see it. Bastion and a 100km range of death, I can look at it then lol.

Most of that new stuff is not worth 1 million isk let alone irl money to me.

That be my view. Others may love them, which is fine. We all have out likes/tastes. But this is what makes SKINs iffy to go f2p with full access no subs.

1000 kronos pilots who must pay a sub in some way to use it. Make a skin only 100 of them buy…that is 900 players lost money. My kronos was paid off 8+ years ago. NGL…I’d fire away and not buy skins for hours in f2p.

Yeah, skins are one of the few issues for which I do have a gripe. Prices in some cases are just truly absurd, largely because a small group of people have had a monopoly on them and they are scarce. Roll on the day when we can make our own skins.

I’m not asking for the frikin Mona Lisa…I just want a coat of paint on my ship.
