Is there any evidence that the players who play in arenas …
… were actually roaming, looking for fights?
It does not seem obvious to me that Arena players would want to seek fights in an open world.
Why would they want to do that? Maybe they dont? If you would choose arena, you would want particular experience to take place. There it is for you. Dont deprive others or yourself of it. Thats my position.

I mean its pretty hard to pass up that 250k sp reward when your char only gets 150k from a skill injector.

They bribed you with SP and stuff.

First the free dose, then they come back for more with cash. Eventually even when flogged they come for more.

Which brings me back to my question.
Why do you run arenas now instead of staying in your lowsec home system and roaming?
Because lowsec is now empty, or because going to the arena is faster and easier?
Arena is dead boring (not becuase the players and pvp isn’t challenging but becuase the meta is stale) but good rewards so its like pve almost.
Low sec is where I had some of the best fights of my life
Low sec was always pretty empty as far as I can remember. Comparing to high sec of course.
Systems with one or two people inside them, some empty for hours. You could see some lone person trying to find a fight sometimes.
Those arenas are pretty much an experiment that CCP conducted, because why not? They can always remove it, if something goes wrong.
