i installed another ssd and i will install w10 and eve on it for try if the problem fix i will writte again in a few days
for me itr freezes once i log one of my other accounts out while main stays online. at last im now seeing im not alone with this.
Guys 1 week ago i decide to install W10 on my second ssd and i played a lot of hours without problems so if you can play on W10 i try all on W11 but i didnt found the fix ,
im ganker i stay several hours on doors more than 10 hours if i can and 1 week its time enought to say its a fix
My system started freezing and requiring a power reset the moment I upgraded to windows 11 24H2.
Anyone has been able to find a solution?
Other games are fine. Baffling that CCP and MSF have not fixed - or acknowledged- this yet. Even if only to prevent the full system crash
Only fix is to revert back to windows 10 or earlier version of windows 11. I sent a support ticket. They wanted safe log information, told them thats the problem, system freezes I can’t access anything have to hard power down computer and no logs are saved from the incident. Event viewer shows the normal windows crap that microsoft needs to get rid of as well.
And they must have gotten tired of talking to me and ended the support ticket, no “yes we have heard of this issue” or anything like that just wanting me to send them information. Truely is a pain in the ass.
Very fustrating. I have done this 3 times. I want to revert back to windows 10 but I want CCP to pay for my time. This is getting very very old.
I think it has nothing to do with the number of accounts you run. I run only one with plenty room for more but it freezes my PC all the same.
Update on this. I have moved my game files from an SSD to an NVMe and it SEEMS to have cleared most if not all of it up. I just checked quickly, but it seems to have lost most of the stuttering and hesitations. I’ll get in game and check a little more thoroughly later, but perhaps this is others bottleneck as well? Lot’s of people don’t even think about their disks being the cause…
Update: Been playing for hours now, and not one of the hangs, freezes, almost all the stuttering/lag is gone… So maybe for me it was just getting goofy over some elements loading slower? I dunno, but been on Dx12 all day now and not a single issue. Other then a very slight stutter here and there in game play. A thing to note: the SSD I had the cache stored on before this is connected through SATA, not PCIe. I forgot to mention that before. My POINT is, I was having the same issues everyone else was having, I made this change, now everything is running fine. The post was made as a recommendation for something to try for those using similarly connected storage drives.
Not sure if this will help, but its something to try. Someone above mentioned they are using M.2 SSD. M.2 is a form factor. But SSD and NVMe aren’t the same thing
Well if we want to get technical, both SSDs and NVME drives do comprise flash chips.
Also if your motherboard doesn’t have an M.2 slot, you can get an M.2 add in card that goes into a PCI-E x4 slot, and you will get near-reference speeds from that, and the ones I’ve used in the past have been bootable.
That fixed it for me when i had that problem a while ago
My point is that not all storage that fits in the slot is PCIe, or isn’t fast science. Huge potential differences between PCIe 3, 4, 5… 3 seems sufficient, 4 plus, good to go? On reflection, isn’t it even possible to have an m.2 that runs trig A SATA connection? If so, then that’s a massive step down and could confuse some people as to why their m.2 storage is slow asd lol
You can get sata to m.2 adapters I think yes, but it would be like buying a Ferrari to do the school run.
Was your SSD full or very near full?
Me? Hell no All three of my “drives” average about 20 percent used.
Didn’t help to me, bcs already on pcie 5.0 nvme.
System : ryzen 9700x , 4070ti , msi x870 tomahawk, 32 (16x2) 6000mhz.
Before last patch : all fine
After last patch: randomly freeze whole PC, 3-5min in freeze, and after it meltdown all software on it. And I have only one way to fix - force reboot.
Windows logs says - nothing. No errors, no problems, just error with force reboot(long hold power button error) .
It’s can freeze in 30min of gameplay or in 7h. It’s fully random.
Swap on Dx11 in launcher- give insane statter every few secs.
All other games/tests/programms is fine. Problem only in Eve. And starts with this update.
All software reinstalled, drivers and windows fresh.
So, as I see here.. Only setup win10 or early 11 help.. But I don’t wanna reinstall whole system 2 times per week. Still looking some fix from ccp or community.
Same issue here
9800X3D & RTX 5080.
Having same issue, @Roman_Ensi
I have reinstalled eve tried direct x12 and x11,
7900x cpu 7900xtx,first pc
and it not just on this pc it every pc i have,
5900x with 6800xt Second pc and this only run 2 client’s
freezer jump play, it unplayable to the point you don’t know whats coming and None of the local chat work properly, I have checked net work even done even network checker No issue’s what ever they did in last 3 patches is when issue started, before then no problems, i could run 25 accounts with no issue
And this is happening weather it 1client or 2 clients it make no odd’s even when ti 22 is still freeze jumping all over place,
Not sure if this will help, about to install it. But today there is a Windows Update cumulative and in the details for it, normal rollout, I am reading: [Graphics kernel] Fixed: An issue where some game titles become unresponsive after upgrading to 24H2. Also a crap ton under the normal rollout, but I digress. Do with it as you will.
o7 Pilots,
I have or I should say I had this problems too. I restarted playing eve a month ago and it was normal to restart my pc 3 times a day. I have a ryzen 7 3700x watercooled with a 1080ti maxed at 70 degrees under way much load than eve and 32 gb ram.
I read every post here and in reddit and testes everything. I optimised my whole pc for cpu ussage, uninstall every not in use programm, check my autostart and even cleaned my regex. I close the Eve launcher after starting all clients and use dx11. I haven’t done the roleback to 23h2 and my nvidia drivers are up to date.
Nothing helped until I checked my virtual ram usage. I noticed that my cpu hit 100% the moment my pc completly freezes. I noticed that windows 11 managed my virtual ram usage and set it to 22gb. I changed it to 8gb just to see what will happen. It turns out that cpu hits 100% my pc freezes for 30 seconds than my monitors went black and my pc came back.
This happens 2 times in 5 minutes until I had to restart.
Because of this dispabled the usage of virtual ram. My theory is that the cpu tries to store the excessiv memory which happens of the memory leaking of the clients (i use 5 btw) which will lead to the freeze.
Since I disabled the virtual ram usage I havent had a freeze in 2 days.
I know its fresh and it could happen again but I haven’t had a single day without crashing before I disabled the virtual ram. Will update if the pc freezes again.
Ha! I really thought I had the solution. Turns out if Im not active for 3 hours my pc freezes again. The only solution I have atm is to limit the amount of ram a client is allowed to use. But man. I really hoped Ive found the solution
Well back to the routes.
