Biggest gripe so far with Photon is that the ‘Performance’ setting for graphics is too aggressive. It gets rid of quality of life aspects such as window coloring and transparency which the standard UI does not. I am happy with the presets of the standard UI.
Huh window appearance transparency is there for proton I’m looking at it as I type 
In which setting? I could only get it if I went to the ‘quality’ one. Everything else, I am seeing just a opaque black background regardless of what I set transparency to.
