I dont know if someone as already ask this question, but it would be really useful to have the possibility to save the formation of the extraction heads for the PIs as well, just like the probes are saved in the anomaly scan menu.
But why?
I don’t understand.
Am I the only one who places the heads based on the totally random resource density in range?
What is the point of a ‘standard saved head template’ when random resource distribution means you have a new unique head formation every single time on every single planet on every character?
One planet there’s a circular hotspot, the next planet it’s more oval, on the gas planet the resources are spread on the northern side of a horizontal band, or the south side and a bit of the middle, the week after the resources have been drained from the middle but are still available in a half-circle outside the range of the previous heads and the next time it’s some strange blob with highest concentrations on one side but another high concentration spot just in range on the other side as well, etc.
My extractor heads have never had the same formation twice that I can remember, unless I was too lazy to move them to a new unique formation.
Templates for planet structures makes sense. I often use the exact same setup.
Templates for probe formations make sense. I often use the exact same setup.
Templates for head formations on a totally random distribution of resources makes little sense to me.

almost always the resources are concentrated in one point, and every single time I have to control-click 10 times, to always put the same 10 heads in the same position
It would also be useful to be able to move them all together instead of one at a time, like shift+click to select multiple heads at once

That’s an interesting formation.
How does the resource distribution look like under that?
My experience is different and usually looks more like this:
I just don’t see how a template could help me for such random distributions.
Try to set your range better and you will have the 1st image, if not you have the second one, I do PI with 9 char 3 account and 18 planets, in my esperience 9 time of 10 the heads will stay in a tight formation.
If there wasn’t the possibility to have the saved formations it would be a great help at least to be able to select and move multiple heads and not one by one
