Planetary Industry Templates

To switch to another component, you need to destroy all the bases. Sometimes you add three components to a database, and you can’t see which databases you added which components to. Add visibility of components in databases. Sorry, I use a translator

Out of curiosity, was this being worked on since this New Eden news publication?

TL;DR: Chief Midular explained, “The Itinerant Forge is a new industrial doctrine using modular machinery that can be quickly assembled and disassembled, allowing us to deploy our best technologies to any colony.”

Anyone else experiencing the bug with this turned on, that when you start extractors, your planet now continually flashes the “One or more of your facilities requires attention” even though it seems to be running correctly?

Allow “storage” to increase the m3 of the launch pad insted of being seperated in its current state its more worth to build a 2nd launch pad than to use the storage

A one-click for all extractor reload would be a real quality-of-life update

Really Really nice feature, waited a long time for this!
The Compress Button saves Power on the way and Minutes of dragging Factory’s close to each other.

One thing that i noticed though, if you try to drag the template into the chat it gives you an error saying the “Link” is to long.

Hello,

Good CCP.

Additional feedback;
Folders to separate templates by type (planet they are intended for or skill levels)

Also please review

Hi CCP
It taken 12 years when I talked to CCP Fozzie at EvE DownUnder when I talked to him about PI
But this Template should happened long ago and you make people who played this game wanting it to play EvE Online longer.
I congratulate you taken the input over the years by many players ways to improve PI.
Finally As a player for 18 years who has enjoyed this game over the years who seen the positive and negative of EvE this feature will be the best to help new and older players. Thank You CCP

Need an easy way to link setup templates in corp/alliance like fittings

Need an easy way to drag all the extractor heads around at once.

Maybe implement something similar to the scanner probe system where we can choose layouts/designs and go from there.

This is amazing QoL Life, thank you!

Some bugs appear to be coming up:

  • The saved Routes aren’t always being reinstated when Installing a saved Template,
  • Deleting existing building when looking to move a full setup, the deletion doesn’t seem to save, so the new Template can’t be placed.

Some changes I’d suggest:

  • To auto delete the existing buildings when pressing Confirm & Install on a new Template,
  • The current template saves even the product routes. This means that every planet for every character needs an individual template saved. It would be great to be able to save only the building + links, and not product routes. That way, only 1 only 1 Template needs to be saved for Extraction >P1, another Template for factory planets.
  • To allow us to create product routes to (or from) multiple destinations at once by holding Ctrl when choosing a Product Route destination.

Thank you! G

Thank you for this feature. This will save a tremendous amount of time and clicks

Additional Feature Requests:
(Echoing other great ideas already presented)

  • Add reset extractors button (Optional: PLEASE have it reset all extractors on planets across a single character, not just one planet but at this point, I’ll take anything that reduces pointless clicks)
  • Fix the bug/Figure out why clicks aren’t registered. Too often, a double click had 3 different effects (Intended, nothing, or you off-clicked a fraction of an atom, and it reset your view to the CC).
  • Fix the bug where you select a second extractor and it still thinks you are on the first one. My normal workflow is to single-click to ensure the extractor is specified, then double-click to pull up the extraction program. I’d say that 1 in 20 will register the first click, showing I’m on the new extractor but when I double click, it keeps the program to the prior extractor. How do I know this happens? Because I get an error when I go to submit that I need to ‘wait one minute’ versus any other message
  • Rotate template (Moving XYZ is ok, but give us a rotate)
  • Template should center on your CC and not native to the original location
  • Allow for buildings (Control Unit, Facilities, Launchpad) to ‘click/stick’ next to each other
  • Allow for Split stacks on multiple selected items (OK so not directly PI related but it is where I use this workflow the most
  • Allow me to launch while docked (Which is funny because it works if I’m in ‘View Exterior’ mode so it is already there but make it there official)
  • Normalize the double click to ‘create routes’. When under the ‘Storage’ view, I can double-click an item to create a route but when I’m looking at ‘Routes’, double-clicking shows me info on the item.
  • Reduce the available time slots from a 30-minute increment to 1, 2, 4 hours; data mine what the most common increment is and go from there…I doubt it is a 30-minute increment
  • When adding new heads to an extractor, the overlay should not appear over buildings…trying to select one head that’s in the middle of a cluster of buildings is maddening
  • Add the capability to edit the names of templates after they are created
  • When searching templates, the search string should look in the entire name and not just the start. Example: ‘Org’ search does not return ‘P2>P4 - Organic Mortar Applicators’

thank you very much for listening to the community and implementing those requests

Great experiance so far setup a few planets today without the feeling to need to end it all.

Additional feature Request
renamable lunch pads and storages (but mainly the lunchpads)

I have some issues with a setup that has a link to Command Center - which I use as a small buffer between Basic and Advanced factories.
First I got an error that I can’t export such template, so I deleted the link to Command Center, saved the template and then recreated the link from Command Center to a launchpad.
After that all things broke, as I can’t route items via the recreated link, the UI sometimes shows a link on the planet, but no link in command center properties, sometimes the other way around.

I think the current system is a good starting point. That being said, my ideal “template” would be non-planet specific. The template system is significantly less useful if each template is planet-type locked. I would want a template to save the types and relative locations of all buildings and extractor heads as well as the links and routes regardless of planet types. This way, when I am setting up a planet all I have to do is load the layout and then set the extraction type and P2 type.

uff aa yea, that json need to be more … readable, but have to say amazing for industry planets setup dam … and yea we need a RESTART AL EXtractors button or dashboard for PI so we dont have to check it planet by planet, i mean we can transfer a person to a clone but cant broadcast simple data-set to a dashboard lol.

also a separated handler for the extractor and its nodes would be great i mean, the posivility to move all the structures + a “lock/unlock” to adjust the extrator alone with its points would be great

able to relocate existing structures including extractor heads by its self or in a group
