Players don't understands Eve is a Free Game... why?

The sad thing here is that you just described EVE Online in its’ current incarnation.

I rolled my eyes when I read this, but by the time I got to the end of the thread it had peaked my interest.

No further skill training, no access to manufacturing or high end PvE, perhaps limited market activity somehow?
All other skills remain active and all ships available. Something like half subscription price?

Not sure it makes much sense for a player, but if it moved a fraction of alpha players into a half subscription it would make sense for CCP

CCP wants to think of Eve as a premium product. They offer the gourmet burger as Omega and the Dollar Menu as alpha.
Perhaps something in the middle is needed.

Hello and welcome to my TED talk.

No.

No my clever child. He makes himself embarrased…

Its not free alpha is unlimited trial. It have closer to old wow trial lvl 60 for free. Then to the free to play. Alphas cant do lot of things and what they can they dont do at full eficienci

Alpha = unlimited trial

Thank you CCP for %50 discount

So you’re saying that you are a nonce?

Whan something is free, then you are content.

Honestly I would not invest time into any MMO type game that is completely “free to play”. I mean what is the chance that the game would last without any way to make money to pay for server hosting, game devs and all the other wonderful things that make game companies tick.

Now I am not saying go completely Diablo Immortal on a game, but a sub and a buyable token to exchange in-game currency for real money and visa versa so you can pay for your sub with in-game currency or get more in-game currency if you don’t have time to sit and farm it.

I would also rather pay a sub to play a game and have no ads in the game.

There’s no such thing as ‘free’. Someone is paying…via Omega and PLEX purchases. Without which there would be no Eve, or PLEXing of accounts, let alone any ‘free’. So when you ask for more ‘free’ stuff…you are basically asking other people to pay more for your ‘free’.

Its everywhere written “Eve is a Free Game” what is there not to understand?

Free plex to start with is not a good idea. But rewarding someone with limited time pass to something better is a good idea.

PLEX package to redeem only for omega time in store could be indeed generated and added to peoples accounts for some alpha achievements, but not for free. These achievements would have to be serious and not 5 minute lazy workout you can repeat every 10 minutes, or farm on multiple alpha accounts “the more, the merrier” method. Pretty much it would have to be the thing alpha can do to feel acomplished as alpha, like a pinnacle of achievements, taking maybe few months, and by actually playing the game actively doing stuff in space.

Then 500 plex package to redeem in store to get only omega time and nothing else would be pretty good. In this time that person could do a lot of training, and would feel what have been missed by him. Maybe deciding that its good to invest more. You have to dangle that carrot in front of them, and give it when they are ready.

Would it be possible to transfer the free-plex to main account? Or is that a complete new currency?
