For instance, Carmine Horizon SKINs were a part of a login reward track that is defunct. It was not, to my knowledge, a reward for an in-game activity like Resource Wars or Empire campaigns (Caldari Union, Matari Tribes, etc.). Many/most of them are account bound and were never available on the market. They are not much of a collectible as they be cannot collected.
If it is technically feasible, I believe it would be a positive opportunity to add these sorts of SKINs to loot tables in future events. They should not be dangled as another MTX as part of store bought packs (that’s what PLEX/SKINR is for). They should be a potential drop for players who undock and do things in space.
We’ve seen the C1-C2 Hollow sites drop decent old SKINs, and these sites have also been a nexus for player interactions through suspect baiting, which is valid gameplay. If future events are about getting players out into space more doing things they might not normally do, I think these types of items have a place on future loot tables.
