So there will not be any fluctuations in the price of PLEX from those sources. Ok
You mean that CCP doesn’t inject PLEX in the system at all? So if players stop buying PLEX that’s it, no more PLEX? Could that even happen?

If that’s all it was. Like when it was first introduced. You buy one Pilot’s Licence EXtention and get a months gametime added to your acct.
But as always happens, the company got greedy and now PLEX gets used for anything they think they can get you to spend it on. AKA designing for monetization instead of game play.
That’s why this game is going to ■■■■.
Mr Epeen
Not to-date, no - other than discounts on PLEX sales or the occasional event. The highest discount I’ve seen thus far on PLEX for cash is 25%.
Anything is theoretically possible, but the higher PLEX goes the more it has in-game value. PLEX at 10m (as an example) in 2025 has twice the ISK value it did in 2024… High PLEX prices make it more affordable to buy in-game items such as ships, modules and skill injectors.
PLEX countered RMT and was key to introducing Alphas. So like it or hate it, it probably extended the shelf life of EVE as a whole.
I should really buy a ton of PLEX then… like 5000 PLEX I think. Maybe more.
There are a few different ways to look at PLEX:
• It’s a hedge against in-game inflation (since ISK hasn’t appreciated like PLEX has over the past few years - and has in fact lost some value with respect to things generally becoming more expensive).
• PLEX can always be redeemed for game time (in addition to NES items), so combined with the right offer you can usually save an additional 20-25% off your Omega subscription.
• PLEX can always be sold for ISK (there is always a demand for it).
CCP typically has 2-3 PLEX cash sales of up to 25% off (in addition to bulk discounts). The best time to buy PLEX on the market is when CCP has those sales and there’s nothing competing in the NES store.
No, brother. It replaced RMT.
And an RMT operation run by CCP is just as game breaking as RMT run by third parties. Which still exists, by the way.
Mr Epeen
I’m not privy to the internal financials so I’m not going to speculate. Yes, RMT still exists - but it’s a shadow of it’s former self.
CCP IS A REAL MONEY TRADER!
Third party RMT is a shadow of its former self at this time. But CCP’s RMT operation dwarfs anything that came before it.
Mr Epeen
We’re not quite at “premium time” or “gold ammo”. Yet…
@Arthur_Aihaken I understand. I will buy lots of PLEX to counter hyperinflation on isk and taxes, have advantage on subscription and to also buy items in the NES.
I would love to have my own structure and create a market to offer discounts on modules ( no more than 10 per customer per week ) with the help of PLEX I will own but I know that without lots of players on my side it will only be destroyed in an hour and that’s a real bummer.
That’s what you’re going with? I think you are being too distracted by the temp.
I never took you for an CCP apologist.
Mr Epeen
NFT induced PLEX ammo Doomsday weapons on frigates soon:trade_mark:?
Not until every single player and all of those players’ alts stop PLEXing their accounts. You need to campaign hard and get THEM to stop PLEXing and buy their own Omega before people like me quit buying PLEX to sell to those people.
Why would I want to do that?
I want them to continue to PLEX their accounts so they buy PLEX from me, no?
Sounds good to me!
I mean, unless I didn’t understand what you’re trying to tell me.
No, I misunderstood. You asked if it could ever happen that we stop buying PLEX. That’s the only way I know that would stop me- people quit buying it from me
It’s bloody cold here right now… Not an apologist - just a realist. EVE certainly would’ve been different without the current iteration of PLEX; I honestly don’t if the game would be better or worse…
I definitely don’t agree with everything CCP does - but there’s also a lot behind-the-scenes that I either don’t understand or can’t wrap my head around.
PLEX is… what it is. It’s definitely not going away in its current form, so I’m just going to make the best of it.
