Plex Price question

I really cannot justify paying the same amount I would pay for my xbox game pass for a single game. Is there any better way to pay? Maybe you guys should make an arrangement with Xbox and access a greater market. You might even get more players. Now that keyboards are an option on Xbox it just seems like you guys could cash in.

The intricacies of EVE’s expansive world can present challenges for a console port. While its depth is a major draw, replicating it on a console may not convey the full experience. Consoles, even the newer ones like the Xbox One, may also struggle to portray the vastness of EVE’s space battles.

Ya the article suggests the difference between controller and keyboard mainly, but since keyboard support is in the xbox that concern is gone.

I don’t think it’s that simple but I don’t know tech.
Wait and see.

The game is great on PC.

Well, there’s another way, you can invest time and buy PLEX paying ISK. If it is “better” depends on how much your time is worth.
And a “single” game is also a question of perspective, of course Candy Crush is also a single game, but it doesn’t need this much server interaction and expensive infrastructure.

you cannot justify paying for one month the price of a McDonald’s menu or a Cinema ticket, for a game which will keep you busy several hours per day, will provide you friends, enemies, memories, a second life etc?
that’s your choice
no i don’t want your stuff

Sounds to me like this is less about what @Most_Moliko wants to do in this game and more about what device they desire to use.

That is exactly what Microsoft needs, a bigger slice of the pie. Heck why not give them the whole pie? CCP is already operating at a loss and Microsoft would add to their loss and not a profit. Distributing a successful game across multiple devices has been attempted and failed.

Bundling the cost into a XB Live or PSN account might seem like a great idea to the end user, but there is a reason for not doing it. The port of the game to another device costs the developer a lot of revenues. The cost is suppose to return with vast amount of sales and there is no way a lot of PS5 or XB1 players are going to invest time and money into a +20 year old game.

CCP can’t even afford a legit Linux version on the market. They have to resort to Steam’s Proton and other WINE versions available to the users of those platforms. Hence they don’t need to hire a Linux programmer to make anything different. It is up to the alternate OS player to get it operational. CCP just releases the one MS Windows version and people play it on their system. They even tried a browser version of this game and that was shutdown too.

If @Most_Moliko is still reading this thread at all, I agree the game is overpriced for its value. If someone is looking to pay the dancing bear, just buy your Omega on sale from the store or tip them with the PLEX. Unlike @Wyk_Bathana I don’t know how much going to the theater ticket costs or even if they have a McDonald’s in your nation. I never assume everyone is US Americans in a game based in Iceland and played globally. However they are correct, if you can afford the tech and internet to run the game, you can afford to pay something.

Fly safe o7

So don’t. It’s really that simple.

Either the game is enough fun for you to justify paying it, or it is not. For example, I don’t consider paying for an Xbox PC Game Pass any sort of value because I’m only going to play a handful of the many games available, and will lose access to all of them when that subscription expires. I’d rather pay a subscription for a single game, that way I only lose one game when I get bored and do something else.

Once a year or so I’ll get a 3 month sub to it and try out the new games to see if I want to purchase their real versions, but the idea of losing access to all my games because I had an emergency expense and couldn’t pay my subscription is idiotic to me.

Cucumbers are pretty expensive rn as well.

Xbox pass is the equivalent of what mmos cost monthly. The difference is xbox pass gives you access to a lot of games with limited content. While Eve Online gives you access to one massive game universe with UNLIMITED content.

Big difference. You also dont need to pay for omega for at least the first month or two. And as you play more, you will eventually be able to pay for Omega with ISK you make and exchange for PLEX. I think its 270plex for a month of Omega.

500 plex

Yes sorry. I think 250-270 is for Two Weeks of Omega. My mistake.

Yes there is a better way to pay, it’s called sweating and earning ISK to buy Plex. Not to criticize, but putting the game on console under game pass would put PC players at a cost disadvantage, no player would spend anything on Xbox, just like on other rented games; the point is that servers and contents cost money.

Microsoft brings in 16 billion dollars from game pass. They pay well. Putting eve on xbox game pass would mean the developer gets paid even if players are Alpha players. In fact they may want to just move the Alpha player market to game pass exclusively and then they will be paid per hour for players time. Maybe give some features back to Alpha for instance they recently removed Alpha characters ability to do level 4 missions. A totally unnecessary change. But the 5 million skill cap was also unnecessary. Instead of continuing to gimp Alpha how about make some money.
