Potential new features

Suggested feature enhancements:

Embargo:
Feature to disallow the trade between player or alliances, etc. Can be drilled down to the player level all up to the alliance/corp level. This allows the members to squeeze out resources from cross trade and also allows individual pilots to mark hostels as not trade worthy. Makes the game more competitive given the diplomatic perspective - it’s no longer just raid and go, there are restrictions that can be applied.

White Flag:
Player gives up, example in a fight, PVP as an example. Kill mail is reported but they are immune from further action. This is to assist players that are learning, so they are not penalized losing everything they worked so hard for while still giving the other players the kill mail that they so much want. Maybe even a penalty of stripping the ship they fly of all rigs and modules or they just get ejected to a shuttle. Not sure what would work. It’s a suggestion to buffer the learning curve as people progress. One of the biggest issues in the game are gangs of people targeting the inexperienced. This needs to be throttled, I have seen so many people leave the game after 30-90 days because they are just tired of being killed while they are learning to navigate to a moon in another system.

Player issued Kill Rights (assassination - enhanced):
Make this feature more improved. Instead of kill contracts that are just paid for, which rarely anyone accepts. Make it so there is a reward for the contract created if the contract is accepted and executed. This would get players involved at more social level, money to be made along with potential SP awards given the complexity- potentially a different skill set to learn. This would broaden the game set and create an entirely new subset environment.

Player reduction of SP after 1M+ SP achieved (Senior veteran penalty):
While this isn’t what any veteran player would want. It would equalize the game in a way that matters. There are to many players with 15-20 years in the game with characters that have 1-2M SP, can do anything - they are essentially gods in the game. Make a penalty for any character the dies in combat with more than 1M SP lose SP or random skills. This makes it so they pay attention and only use those “God” characters strategically. With it taking over 20 years to train all skills unless you pay 10k USD or more to skill inject - younger players, even those with 5 years experience can’t complete with these pilots. And let’s be honest, you can SP Package to a Titan in 30 days, so any character with 1M+SP is just ridiculous anyway. 1M SP you can pilot anything in the game as long as your focused on a particular ship class.

Just suggestions - maybe they go nowhere…

Thx!

Sounds like a huge waste of dev time given that jita alts in NPC corps exist.

I guess my freighter will just be surrendering the moment you try and gank it. Oh no my 3 expanded cargohold IIs.

You can already do this.

Do you have any idea how little 1m SP is? That’s like a 4x skill to V. One. Skill.

@Ikas_Saken you do realize 1M SP majority of players reads that as 1 million SP? You can get 1 free million SP by a refer code

Circumvented by alts. Nope.

“Get out of PVP free” card. Nope.

Abusable by alts, just like the old bounty system. Nope.

 WHAT??

 If you’ve been playing 15-20 years and have only 1-2M SP, you are definitely doing something wrong.

Besides, even at 400M+ SP, 1) I am not a god, and 2) I can’t do “anything.”

I can still get blown up by a fleet of cats, just like anyone else. And while yes, I can fly anything smaller than a dreadnaught, I’m strictly a sub-capital pilot. I can’t fly capitals at all, because I chose to specialize in other things.

I love when noobs play EVE for a while and think they understand the game well enough to suggest sweeping changes. You simply don’t know what you don’t know. Give it another decade or so.

EDIT to add:

I just realized the OP probably meant “M” as a milliard (i.e., 1,000,000,000 or a “billion” to some). Nothing else makes sense. Just thought I’d mention that for anyone else confused.

No. Players with 15-20 years experience do not have 1-2 billion SP. There are less than 700 million SP worth of skills total. So even someone who has trained every single skill to V will still have far less than a billion SP.

Even with optimized attributes and +5 implants, the max SP gained from skill training is a little over 23.6 million per year. After 20 years of continuous optimized training, you’re still only talking ~473 million SP. And given that CCP has, in the last several years, been running more and more login events that grant bonus SP, and have introduced things like the 1 million bonus SP referral, there’s never been a better time to be a noob (skill training wise).
