But the game is not broken.

Maybe you should try validating the game files if yours isn’t working.

You seem to be mistaking starter systems with greater HighSec.

It’s a common mistake.

I think CCP could clarify this a bit better by calling the starter systems “Safe Space” to signify that nothing bad can ever happen there.

Then High sec can be called “mostly secure but still risky” space

Low sec should be called “happy fun time space. You will be shot at”

And null can be called “Krab Zone. No touchies”

Er, no…I asked a question first…

Show me a single piece of CCP documentation that states 'highsec is a place for people to be safe '.

You are using the usual disingenuous strategy on these forums of trying to widen the net to include everyone…‘people’. If you meant solely new players then that is what you should have said. And even then, CCP only state that 35 systems are safe for under 30 day noobs…not the whole of highsec.

There is nothing, anywhere, that states highsec is a safe place for people in general. Nor should there be !

This I just gotta see. Someone with zero killboard and whom I have never ever encountered in my travels far and wide across Eve…I mean does he ever really even log in ?..is gonna dominate highsec. When does this amazing event occur ? Will it be preceded by the rapture of all the good guys ?

Seriously ? The very first thing I found on Google was…

“CONCORD ships will destroy player ships that carry out any aggressive actions on other players in high security space” in Eve University.

That is a clear statement that aggressive actions occur in highsec.

Ah so it wouldn’t take much huh? So the question becomes, why aren’t you doing it

All of high sec isn’t a newbie zone. Please learn how to EVE kthx.

Sure there is. It’s that green button dot thing next to your capacitor.

The fact that you can set your safety to red in high sec is proof right there that pvp aggression can happen in high sec.

Furthermore, if high sec aggression was not allowed, then there would be no need for a response fleet to swoop in and take care of the noer-do-wells.

You’re grasping at straws now.

That’s not written by CCP. Anyone can set up a wiki.

The safety button is written by CCP. It can go to yellow and red in high sec.

Yes, and it’s broken. If you set it to green you are not safe.

That’s not how it works.

Please learn to EVE kthx

While CONCORD forces do react quickly and with force, they do not have a mandate to protect attacked players and as such will not necessarily be able to prevent eventual losses if attackers can field sufficient firepower to destroy their targets before CONCORD can intervene. CONCORD should therefore be regarded as a force of retribution, not one of protection.

Welcome to EVE!

Poor Space bunny looks like a sausage link as the captured progress was paused. =(

Sigh. The green button status has nothing to do with guaranteeing your safety. It is not there to prevent others committing illegal acts against you…it is there to prevent you committing illegal acts against others !

If you switch the button to red…which you are perfectly able and allowed to choose to do in highsec…then the code that stops you making attacks on others in highsec is disabled.

There is nothing ‘broken’ about this. It’s game design…the way it has been for years. If you don’t like it, find another game.

Everything carebears like Lucas Kell want are already available on the test server. You can AFK autopilot or mine to your heart’s content. You can run the same missions a hundred times a day, and PvP griefer attacks are expressly forbidden.

I was once ganked on the Test Server ages ago while mining so nowhere offers safe space.

/It must of been that time before owning a permit long ago.

But now I use a copy of this;

High sec is safe for people in general.

I spend a lot of time in high sec. I run lvl 4 missions, mine, haul stuff around from one trade hub to another. I feel safe in high sec, because I recognize that I must keep myself safe, and I do the simple things that are necessary to keep myself safe.

Watch local, d-scan, don’t auto pilot with loot, always fit a tank, scout ahead, don’t sit at the warp in, and if you see trouble coming GTFO.

With simple actions players can keep themselves mostly safe in all of EvE.

Oh , that explains why my ships keep getting ganked by Poopy Head.
