I want to thank you for pointing out this little-known economic theory where you pretend to make money while playing video games. I hope the IRS on planet Earth does not find out because CCP will have to send me a 1099s for past years.
I had a guy with degrees in economics and extensive business experience explain pretend in-game money is not real and applying economic theory is baseless from the get go. I told this âexpertâ I could prove ISK had intrinsic value in the real world so we played Monopoly for the next eight hours. Boy o boy when I got hotels on Park Place and Boardwalk I could charge lots of rent and it was just like plexing in Eve. The expert said I was sure right about plexing and could be up for the Nobel Prize in Economics.
Too bad the âexpertâ got fired from his job. He was supposed to go to an important meeting that day but missed it because he was playing Monopoly with me.
I just make enough money in my dayjob to pay for a subscription and am happy that way myself, but if you are a happier person for no longer having to trade in SAP options (or w/e they were called) in your dayjob and would rather play an extra however-many hours of Eve to save $15 then more power to you.
I still trade SPX options while I play Eve. This is what I watch while in FW (other alt), mine ore, farm trigs, etc:
The difference between all this Aiko/Frostpacker stuff and War & Peace is that War & Peace does eventually come to an end
