Here’s a small QoL idea:
Players can customize and set a checklist to a ship. The checklist pops up and needs to be dismissed before undocking. It could have actual checkboxes, or it could just be a reminder.
For example:
Mobile Tractor Unit
Scanner Probes
Were repairs done?
Anything valuable in your cargo?
Sounds a bit too much hand holding. Also what if one only wants this to appear for certain ships but not others?
It’s simpler and easier to have a specific note in your in-game notepad and just open it when needed. Make it a habit so you don’t forget to. 
The player would set it per-ship. It would basically be a notepad entry that pops-up before undocking. I think it would be best to have it off by default.
