Here’s an idea, contract your plex to people you know aren’t bots. You can also make it cheaper for them.

Correct. You should only be able to obtain omega through paying $15. Thats it. Nothing more to it. Nothing less.
If PLEX remains in the game, it should not be redeemable for in-game time.

Yes you are, because you started this ■■■■ show by complains about PLEX prices too high for you to play for free. You get that you are on the same page as this “bunch”? You are on the demand site, hence part of the “problem”.

This plays into the hands of botters and rmt.
People will exchange real life money for extra isk regardless of whether ccp wants it or not. The plex system not only makes ccp extra money but provides a legitimate way for players to exchange rl money for isk and isk for game time.
Plex isn’t an evil thing. Very much the opposite.

It does indeed look like that right now.
Certainly there have been some interesting discussions about what is happening with the price of PLEX. Of course CCP have the information that we don’t have, hence the rampant speculation about what is happening.
The problem isn’t PLEX - the price to purchase from CCP hasn’t changed, and someone needs to buy PLEX from CCP before they can sell it on the in game market.
The problem is partially too much ISK chasing too few PLEX and partially a lot of new products other than game time that need to be purchased with PLEX - skill extractors are probably the main culprit there.
I believe CCP can take pressure off PLEX and sink a lot of ISK by selling some of the stuff that is currently only available in the NES through LP stores for ISK. This would hurt their bottom line but it may save the game economy.

Have you seen the upcoming spring balance update?
Inflation is indeed a big cause for these increased plex prices, but it seems CCP is doing some significant changes that lower the inflation these days.
As a summary:
- lower ISK entering the game (through ratting, because caps, supers and VNI income are getting nerfed)
- lower ISK entering the game (through insurances, because insurance for larger hulls will pay out significantly less)
- more ISK leaving the game (through skill book price increases and the ability to be lazy and pay 30% more ISK that also leaves the economy - this update already happened)
I would expect inflation to stop rising as fast after these changes. And plex likely will stop rising that fast as well.
But to come back to your thread title: It’s a terrible idea to take plex off the market, unless you would enjoy an influx of a significant amount of extra bots and / or hacked accounts to create enough RMT ISK to fill the demand of players that would rather pay than grind for their ISK. Plex stops most of those practices by offering players a slightly more expensive, but legal alternative.
