Hi, I’m a new alpha player and I’m trying to create my first jump clone.
- I’ve trained Infomorph Psychology to level 1
- The station I intend to install a jump clone in has a clone bay.
- In order to make sure my active medical clone isn’t in the station I want to create a jump clone in, I’ve reset my home station to a different station so that I can install a jump clone in my original station.
For some reason, I still can’t install a jump clone. The game says that I haven’t met the skill requirement, but I’ve already trained Infomorph Psychology level I. Maybe I should wait until I’ve finished training Cybernetics II?
I’m pretty sure you can install jump clones in your home station.
You shouldn’t do jump clones in the very first days, there’s more important skills, but of course giving a try is a nice approach. Here’s some EVE Uni Info, obviously something is not completely correct. But hey, I remember jump clones were kind of a mystery for me as a newbro, it took me some time to fully understand the mechanics.
And I assume you have the funds (900k ISK as I recall) to pay to install the clone?
I’m creating a jump clone to make it significantly easier for moving to the HQ of a corp I joined (and so that I can access my original station more easily in the future.)
Thanks for providing the link!
Did you perhaps already unknowingly make a jump clone? That may explain why your skills don’t allow you to install another clone.
For example in the picture below I have 5 clones and can install a new one in my current station:
Does your list already include a clone?
Well, be aware this clone only works once. As soon as you jump, the “old” clone is stored in the departing station. So if you want to transfer multiple ships and items from A to HQ, you should install the medical clone in A, transport stuff to HQ, self-destruct in HQ station, and start the next tour from A.
In this case the jump clone is only needed to save implants.

Oh, thanks a lot! That makes sense, I’ll try that instead.
No, I don’t have any clones so far. This is my first.
Additionally, this works from Wormhole, too (while jump clones don’t). It’s the fastest way to travel, called “pod express”.
