Project Nova officially canceled

Heh, go back to your troll hole and screw yourself.

Not to mention he has always been right about Scam Citizen.

Meanwhile in Star Citizen

This is what was suggested by players in EVE when WiS was developed. Underground fight clubs.

Nova is dead, the London office is developing another FPS which might use concepts already proposed for Nova but Nova’s team is back to Reykjavik.

Understanding what’s been read is a different thing than just reading it. :tipping_hand_woman:

Maybe they can make one with Space Vampires!

So much for ‘CCP stays independent after being bought by Pearl Abyss’.

Anybody that still believes this propaganda BS is simply too dump to find the restroom at morning after a slept through night with dreams of an actual competent and ‘independent’ CCP…

But you fanbois will surely try to tell me the cancellation was CCP’s decision and not Pearl Abyss…

We all I’m sure wouldnt mind docking in a station and taking a transport to a hub where we all fps for whatever reason. Their problem becomes its a stand alone game.

I cringe to think all the time and money wasted on external project when I think what added internal function to eve could have been made in their place.

Even small stuff like a factorio style pi, space engineer style build you own station stuff… Hell you put an arpg into eve where I can farm hostile life form planets for resources and I’m done with life outside eve.

Focus on EVE, it is all of CCP.

But then again . . . when CCP does spend time developing Eve, they come up with stuff like the red dot.

The Trigs are actually time traveling space vampires.

Doesn’t matter who’s decision it was. It was decided because the project was going nowhere, like so many (all) of CCP’s “side” projects.

This, CCP are image at developing games outside of the one lucky fluke they scored with Eve… well, Dust might have been fun if it hadn’t been platform restricted… but that’s CCP for you

I wasn’t around back then, could you fill me in on what went down?

Because ccp then lives and dies with eve. They’d be forced to marginalise everything in eve for mainstream play to stay afloat.

With multiple projects not only is there less risk and more potential income, but it also allows ccp as a developer to offer their customers different options depending on taste and still get paid at the end of the day.

I’m gonna have to say it… every one of their side projects has been a complete failure. Your logic might sound reasonable for a company to grow and thrive, but Eve is the only success CCP is likely to ever have.

Yes, CCP needs to stop pretending they know how to make games, and focus on the only money-maker they have. Yet another lame FPS that can’t come close to competing with the other FPS out there isn’t something they should be wasting their dev time on.

CCP, or hopefully at least Pearl Abyss, needs to admit to themselves they can’t continue to fill the desks with hires at below-industry-standard wages, teach them to be corporate yes-men and allow them to turn out buggy, incomplete, untested code for their paychecks.

If you want a quality product, you hire competent people, you pay them what they’re worth, and you set the expectation of working code, delivered on time. CCP could literally fire 3 mediocre staff and use the same money to hire 2 decent ones and be ahead of the game.

They also need to admit that management doesn’t know how to set priorities, guide project management, or much about game design - and get some people in those positions who can publish actual completed projects rather than half-assed demos that need to be yanked out of the game a few years later.

Maybe then CCP can get EVE back on track, but they sure won’t do it by continuing the way they have been.

Ah

Paddling back into the ‘independence’ reality…

Eve: Valkyrie was not bad at all btw…

But they went home with tail between ther legs after the first complains about content came…

All the gaming world needs is a wing commander style game with THIS graphics and no freaking deathmatch pvp crap…

A game like this would become a megaseller…

It’s like you’re not capable of rational thought. The project, like all CCP’s side projects, sucked out and, like all CCP’s side projects, got cancelled. Why are you making a fuss about this and why does it even matter who pulled the plug?

There is no hidden narrative going on here.

I’m asking myself if you really believe what you just posted…

If yes i feel really sorry for you.

The propaganda said ‘ccp stays independent’…some doubt it already back then and now after a couple of months it ‘doesen’t matter’?

I don’t know about you but I call that a ‘paddling back’.
