You’re basically saying “miners do not need a minigame, they could be clicking their mouse every second if they wanted, moving ore back and forth through their inventory for zero purpose”.
It’s ridiculous, but not unexpected from you.

I never said to move ore back and forth. Why would you accuse me of saying that? You move ore from the Porpoise to the Hulk? Why?
You said you were moving every individual cycle of ore, instead of waiting for a full inventory.
That’s just keeping yourself busy unnecessarily. You’re doing needless clicks. You might as well move ore back and forth between the ships as well if you’re creating extra pointless effort for yourself.
I never said to move it back to the Hulk. That was your own idea.
Not a bad idea!
My own preference would be to keep the behaviour of all mining consistent though.
Instead the minigame could offer a ‘bonus’ of crit cycles or something similar that players can earn by paying attention to the minigame.
So let’s say we’ve got the same 100% mining baseline we have now.
Add a minigame for up to 50% extra yield that requires enough attention that you cannot do multiple:
It would even the playing ground between miners. Multiboxers still have a clear advantage, but the gap is smaller when the pay per account of a single box miner is higher than a single account of a multibox miner.
I merely responded to a ridiculous idea with another ridiculous idea. You’re wasting time moving every individual cycle, so I offered an idea to waste even more time doing pointless clicks.
Pointless clicks are not the topic of this discussion however, so I’m done with this branch of thought.
It’s not pointless. I don’t know why you’re being so adversarial that you’re claiming that moving ore early is as dumb as moving ore back and forth.
The ore has to go into the command ship. That’s its destination. Do you honestly find it to be a crime against the game to move it early? Is that really a conflict for you? It’s going in there anyway. I like to get it in there BEFORE my hold fills up which causes me to lose half my yield due to the hold filling up with that last little bit.
If moving it early is that big of a chore for you, fine. But it’s far from STUPID for someone to get it there each cycle. It doesn’t hurt mining yield. It’s a CHOICE.
Why are you so full of conflict?
So, are we then going to have longer mining cycles to compensate for my old, arthritic hands to keep up with your stupid little “mini game”? One of the reasons I mine in EvE is because it is slow paced and easy on the clicking. You want me to jump through clicking hoops just for your little “game”, I’ll just take my money elsewhere. You’re just adding more tedium to mining, not taking it away.
lol
not even close in reality…i or even better my brother can strip rocks out from under someone b4 they can get a cycle in.
Learn to read. Grumpy old arthritis dude can just use Miner II / Strip Miner II and enjoy slow paced, convenient classic mining without any “minigame”.
I think you might be on to something but your not thinking big enough we should have mini games for everything, you want to undock, minigame you want to turn a module on, minigame. If mining gets a minigame should ganking also get a minigame, yes indeed make it a match 3 game and each gun you want to use has to have its own minigame.
Looks like we can all mine super quickly now without a minigame
There’s no need to change that.
The point is that this idea is counter-productive to its intent. It is to increase the amount of mouse-clicks when mining for those who don’t mouse click when mining. For example: Those who mine in a Skiff or a Venture or another ship that takes half an hour or longer (like Orca drone mining) to get full.
So why is this targeting those who do mine fast? Mining with T2 mining Crystals. Max skill mining. They aren’t the ones who need more actions. Those aren’t the ones AFK mining. See? This does nothing to stop AFK mining. All if does is harass those who are at keys mining properly.
It’s a dumb idea. This won’t nerf Orca AFK mining or those taking half an hour to AFK mine gas clouds. I still want to know why no one mentions the AFK gas cloud miners.
Maybe it is time I actually became an AFK miner. Two Orcas… I can do that. I’ll be just like so many others. Orcas don’t get ganked and few people go after them in posts about making miners’ lives more difficult. Oh and I’d save on mining crystals.
I think minigames get also booring after a little time.
for me mining like it is is perfect ![]()
Yes this screenshots says it all. All these players who like mining like it because it is an “idle gameplay”, ie. that they don’t have to play the game and still get something in it.
But I don’t blame them. I also used to mine AFK when I was starting because sitting in the belt and staring on the screen where the ship mine itself is just watching paint dry. It is just stupid and pointless, if player selects the right rocks he gets to do only one action during 15 minutes of mining. Warp to station, unload the ore and go back and repeat.
Now sure, if you choose Covetor or Hulk and get mining boosts on top of that from your or friendly Orca, suddently you have to click once or twice every few minutes (compress and jettison/move to Orca fleet cargo), but this really doesn’t make it any more entertaining.
Anyway, the lobby of multiboxers and idle gameplay lovers is strong so I don’t think we will ever see this ingame.
No thanks, it seems that as you can’t fly barges you want to make it a pain for those that can.
