Proposal for Rebalancing of the Suicide Gank

Of course if you got your way and removed all the ganking committed by basement dwelling psychotic incels that poor player wouldn’t even have to exert the energy of even doing that math. What a beautiful paradise.

No he wouldn’t LOL.

He just said what’d he do to counter it. Watching local alone would’ve kept him alive LOL.

If you have to figure on getting ganked every single day as part of your profit/loss margins, you might as well uninstall, because you are either the laziest person in the world, or you simply suck at EVE…

Lol…that is how practically all fleet combat works in Eve. There are videos of FCs of large blob fleets targeting half a dozen ships at a time and telling the fleet which ones to shoot at. …sometimes with a speed that would put a horse racing commentator to shame.

So I’m guessing fleet combat is now ‘not real PvP’ too…according to the Lucas Dictionary Of All Things Eve.

Just saw another one on Zkill. A completely untanked Skiff with 300 million ISK worth of ORE miners installed. Genius. Pure genius…

Isn’t that the opposite of what Lucas is saying?

If I read it correctly, if you figure on not being ganked, then fit for yield (T2 crystals aside which I assume is about reducing waste for some dumb reason).

That way, if you are not ganked, you mine more and can turn that into more ISK for the same amount of mining. If you do get ganked, then as long as it is infrequently, you are still making more ISK overall.

If you plan for the possibility of being ganked and fit for tank, but are not ganked, then you mine slower and earn less ISK.

This is why gankers exist. Because most players are, for lack of a better term, lazy idiots. This genius was flying a paper-thin T1 Badger through Uedama with 2.4 Billion ISK worth of cargo with no prop mod, no cloak, and no alignment upgrades…

Yes, he would fit a tank. Then watch local, therefore bouncing when peeps jumped in. So he wouldn’t be losing a barge every 20 hours ROFL.

But you already knew that  You’re just arguing in bad faith like usual.

Not really. You aren’t factoring in the reship time and all of that. Overall I’d say Quake is right and generates more income over the course of the ship life.

Poor? Bruv I got more ISK than I know what to do with

I mean we get it. You fit for yield cause you AFK mine when you played.

It also depends WHERE you mine. There are systems, right near hubs, that never see any gankers.

Also some people take pride in the ability to actually play the game and evade a gank.

Lucas just mines AFK and comes back to a pod in space

Yep haha. When I first came back, I was moving some stuff around in a super tanked T1 hauler. I didn’t know yet about Uedama and all of that. Right as I jumped in, a lone vexor tried to gank me. He probably thought I had no tank

I had maybe like… 200 mil in the hold?

He didn’t even get through my shields before CONCORD came  He was flabbergasted in local. I scooped his wreck and went on my way. Was good times

But if they are ganked that’s 60m ISK lost, which is gonna take a day or more of mining to replace, and in a place like Isanamo one is unlikely to escape gankers all day if one does not have good avoidance skills. I’d argue that especially in Isanamo good tank is essential.

Yes. I would say, **** tank. Barges got buffed so extremely hard that you can’t even die to rats anymore even after hour of being completely afk. And gankers will most likely bring as many ships as it would take to kill max tanked class of your ship anyway as they rarely scan barges fits.

So if you pay attention to local or mine aligned, you will survive and if you don’t you will die no matter what. In which case better go max yield and little to no tank, that is my logical assesment. You will also save gankers some ISKs for killing you if you asleep

Tank will help only again solo gankers, which is no longer a thing thanks to the EHP buff. Or small scale gankers who gank barges with just two, three ships - and those seems to gone extinct as well again because of the EHP buff → the chance the target is tanked to survive 2-3 catalysts is quite high today, too high to even bother, 3 catalysts can kill Gila so the only reason that miner ganking is still a thing is that some of the gankers will do it anyway just to make a statement to either miners or CCP. (Or because hatred against miners (botters) or mining activity itself. Or because they didn’t paid the permit thingy.)

Yield tanking is a losing prop.

Its just an excuse people tell themselves for getting ganked

Oh I do. Cept I’d pay that paltry 300 mil to insure if I did get caught slipping, I’d have a good chance of making it out with my ship.

And you call us the poors but can’t even spend that extra 300 mil?

Oh? Drop the guide

You act as if making ISK is hard in EVE

I dunno bruv, you tell me. It sounds like you got a lot of experience coming back to your computer and finding a pod

Always fit a tank bruv.

It’s really the lazy and incompetent that mine in Isanamo and they deserve the consequences for their choices.

I get the attraction of being that close to Jita, but you can easily mine trouble free in many of the other 1191 highsec systems (not all, but more than 1100 of them can be mined in very safely) and then just get the compressed ores couriered.

There’s actually a system super close to Jita. You can mine all day and not be disturbed.

Well I don’t mine. And if I would mine because say AIR challenge or something. Then I would take gank as an act of liberation and would thanked them.

Bro we get it. You’re poor and 300 mil stresses you out

Also if you never lose the ship, you aren’t continually losing the mods LOL.

Oh. You can’t be bothered to upload a guide you made. Huh. Almost like that mysterious ship fit you have. Or the data. Huh

It’s almost like you never made the guide and just stole those charts from someone else’s.

Cept I can  You’re the one stressing about 300 mil bruv.

That tells me everything I need to know

Hey, good for you for trying it! That’s awesome. Expand your horizons and see if it’s a game style you like.

Seriously? Shaming someone for trying something new even if they fail at it?

Mm no actually. Sorry bruv. The gas don’t work

You know I’m right as well. Eventually the mods get paid off and the dude who doesn’t get ganked keeps making money while the dude who gets ganked falls behind as he is continually taking losses

Not really. If you’d actually uploaded, I would have read it to see if it actually is helpful or good at all.

But of course, given another opportunity to provide proof, ye backpedaled

I hate to break it to you bruv but you know none of us take you seriously right?

Oh…I’m not simply trying it. My alt Maverickz is ensconced in AO’s official ganking wing now. There will be lots more.

I do like it, but I have to say the pressure doing it the first few times is pretty tense…not wanting to screw up. All the more pressure as a previous target with a kill right on me was there in Isanamo at the same time.

It’s okay to make mistakes. If you’re not making mistakes, you’re not trying. When you do make a mistake, analyze it. Learn from it. It is the way to becoming a better EvE player.

Gotta say, I love they way you’ve developed as a player and changed attitudes along the way. If only EVE grabbed everyone that way.

I look forward to the day you lose your first Titan.
