My criteria is my opinion. i used ab in the first fit because it was the first ship i could find (a low sec ratter). Seems to always be 50-60km and you cant predict what the others will use, its completely random.

Yes it takes resources to make anything new in the game. So while some were used to make this? It is not the only thing that they work on.
Yes there is also a limited pool of players in the game so if we give them more to do? Fewer will be doing any singular thing at a given time. Unless the new is bad in which case it is ignored. But what it adding new things brings in new faces? new blood? People who hear about how the game has MORE and keeps adding lore, activities, after 17 years is still there? See, this is where I have an issue with the zero sum. I WANT more people in the game. If this is a draw then some might come, a few might stay and that is a win, to me.
On the flip side I am working to make the NPE better so that if they do come they survive the first week, But that is an aside and not the point. If players want to play in short sharp bursts of activity then we have that. Longer prolonged gameplay? That too.
I admit that, yes, this is a temp ‘time limited event’ but if it takes off? who knows? If it is ignored or solved and boring, well it probably will not last long. But we don’t know for sure until it hits the server, TQ, not SiSi. Until the rubber hits the road we are arguing what ifs.
And I am okay with that. Tell me what you expect, what measures you want us to watch to see if it is working as intended or a dumpster fire. I taught math. Marks had to be based on something and I would have been a damn poor teacher if I marked your work before I read it, before you even handed it in.
So what measures do you want me to watch? What will prove you right? What questions would you like relayed to CCP? No promises that we will get answers but you can always ask.

Your PVP experience must tell you and predict that if you enter an arena for PVP and if know you will start 65 km off you really dont want to get caught in brawly ships or brawl ab combo right? Or gamble on other side will bring brawl too… Why other side bring full brawl ?? since pair ups are random … Or something with MWD to catch and apply high damage ?? Even you want a brawl everyway… do you really want to fit AB there??? to burn 40 km while you taking damage non stop?? SO please can you tell me what kind of fits we will see in those arenas?? how much creative will be ? how much go other side of rock paper scissors??
i just would like to hear from you… How this set up can open up more creative ways of fitting and fighting strategies ?

Just… still traumatised by 65 km warp in lol !!.. i mean cmoon even in corp tournaments we allow pilots to warp into arena middle from different direction to the distance they would like to warp to considering their fleet or fit combination

The game died apx 8 yrs ago so you really cant kill it again. The numbers never did come all the way back, never mind grow anymore. So CCP can do what they want with the game. I have little faith as well.
That being said, I’ll wait and see on this one. The numbers should be available fairly quickly as to how popular it is. It’s not something I’m interested in, more something I’m curious about. Like many things in EVE, this will just be another fad for most. Or not developed far enough. Someone will figure out how to exploit it. (it’s what eve players do best!) And in 6 months, it will be off everyone’s radar except for a select few just like the lottery/not lottery.

Well well… another veteran… I am coming from old mutual war tradition … game and meta is still there… But what happened to this game is not only on CCP but its also on community…
Im working on project last 1,5 years to bring this concept back to New Eden its all forgotton set aside … pilots from last 3-4 years has zero idea what is it about. Everything they introduced tho this game bits and pieces chased away old friends that i fly together … Now im all alone …

And lets accept that… Solo/small gang PVP never be in their primary interest near by the big capital wars in null sec where thousands of euro cost ships are destroy and replaced… where hundreds of players fleeting up together … well its all about $$$$$. And it never represented in CSM properely either beside the 0 sec represantatives. Anyway who cares… right?

its easy to come here and just tell everybody EVE is dead… No MAn ! EVe is not DEAD… Every new pilot is new soul… Eve is still sand box and human being has free will… we can simply create our own space with our rules and play this game the way we want … im not salty for any of those current pilots or the enviroment and i can understand their perspectives…

Every single one of us knows about PvE and PvP, and at least two are specialized in small gang or abyssal PvP.

Well then for my part? I have flown in a lot of New Eden over the years but for the past few I have been in hisec, driving the Bus. This is/was part and parcel of my campaign about who I am and what i know well. But it is difficult to pigeonhole the older players as they have done a lot of things if they stayed at it.
I do a lot of the pve aspect and only occasionally get in on roams (I keep meaning to but time is always a constraint for me) Would I will I go into the proving grounds, given the opportunity? hell yes if I can find a partner.
But again I want to repeat my earlier stance. I am in this thread to take notes, to bring valid points and questions to ccp. Questions, comments, that sort of thing.

something i had experienced and observed …
you know CCP launched those edencom PVE sites… i can see them in low sec esp in our hot zone …
since that PVE sites appeared in FW low sec zones we begin to have even more hard times to find some fights… in turn… lots of T3 and big faction ships we begin to see on D-scan but they are definately not in plexes… amarr - minnie space as everybody accepts one of the last castle in eve where you can still find some laid back solo small gang fights …
i had been watching activity and numbers in the area… we can see clearly attention is mooved on those new sites… and finding fights clearly more difficult… and i do open Zkillboard… and fallowing the daily kills
and interestingly … when thoe expensive ships stays in space… they prefer to not touch each other so much … kinda peacefull on agreement farming goin on how come???https://zkillboard.com/system/30002539/page/10/ look at there how many of them you can see destroyed… 2 nights ago there was a carrier at sun in amamake he stayed there 30 min … and scorpin navy issue and hawk at the siseide gate… noone touch them … noothing happened … we passed by… one of old veteran pilot we had been in comms he had been calling around to get people together to kill it … we couldnt ITS AMAMAKE mike… Its saaad …
i think actually CCP can easily scoop an information and fallow the fluctations about our activity after introduce these PVE sites and events … So they can actually clearly see how these effects the activity right??? and can announce the numbers and fluctations in PVP activity with numbers over time paralel to the events they had been launching one by one over years… i think that can tell lot about the story and how did we come to these days … they have data anylysts… of course they can eliminate some unusual patterns for example after corona shut down activities… and can make some healty evaluations … Especially i would like to see how will be the low sec fights volume in different low sec hot zones surrounded sytems . Also take it 1. jump away from hot zone into low – 2 jump away from the zone… and that kind of comperative evaluations
