Whatever voice-to-text interface you used to type that, it just can’t get my name right.
Some discussion on “Solo: defined with the same consistency as zKillboard”. Keep in mind this is for consideration of the NPC’s on killmails, not which hulls are allowed.
For PvP Fest, all hull are equal. This is not a case of some hulls being more equal than others.
its already being gamed, top overall has a tonne of kills on non fitted ships
Good to hear!
I havent noticed that the event exist, so far.
I`m still not gonna risk it though :))
I have no clue, im not interested in pvp so i dont follow that topic.
Thats why i asked :))
So far so ..many alts have been killed… lol
I feel bad for killing so many newbros in facwar areas… maybe i too should just go kill my alts?
Maybe a more appropriate name for the event would be:
Killboard Padding Fest

Ugh… y’all would plan something like this for Valentine’s Day weekend. Guess I’ll just be playing other stuff til after this, since I’m not a pvp player and have no intention of feeding the gankers. Oh well, at least my training queue’s full so I’m not wasting my Omega time.
Ganks generally require multiple ships to score a kill and only solo kills count for the event, you’ll be quite safe as long as you fit a buffer tank and don’t behave stupidly. Like don’t sit AFK in something slightly rare like a pirate frigate, fly your basic tech 1 frig instead.
Even the gankers I see going after this event are just shooting their alts and their friends’ alts. They’re gankers, they have plenty of them.
The High Sec PvP fest is nothing more than the top player paying someone to get into a ship that is not fit with any weapons to get the kill mail.
All of the ships that I have come across on zKillboard have zero weapons fit and the pilots have been paid to be nothing more than target practice.
It is target practice and nothing more.
Aka: ‘‘Reveal All Your Alts Fest’’.
Aka: ‘‘Time to Sell Extractors Fest’’.
Gankers get more involved in PvP, not much, but just slightly more.
It’s not PvP, it seems to some form of exploited transfer.
no one is paying anyone anything. They are just day 1 alpha alts that you can use in game mechanics to abuse getting kills. You dont even need any omega account. Even a full alpha player can do it.
you can too. It will take some time, but easily not as much time as it would take to get a genuine unique ship pvp solo kill.
It doesnt take rocket science to figure this strat out. I immediately thought of it as soon as i saw the rules even before event started. I guess the person who made the rules didnt have that much brain capacity to think it through.
You have to question why CCP would promote such an obviously pointless contest. It’s not a PvP competition - it’s just a statpadding contest. A little more thought should have been given to the rules.
Massive congrats to CCP for taking home first prize for the most gloriously pointless PvP event ever created. A true masterpiece in competitive irrelevance. One quick look at the leaderboards and you can practically hear circus music playing in the background. It’s not competitive PvP it’s just a logistical hurdle, and it depends on who’s willing to put themselves through it
I don’t know, I think it sums up PvP combat in EVE pretty well: Easy kills much preferred over good fights.
@Squizz_Caphinator Why not apply zkillboard’s existing methodology to this contest? Obviously, blending the kills, points, and isk destroyed metrics (as zkillboard already does) would have created a far more meaningful contest. As is, I think everybody agrees this is a little silly. CCP should also have required kills to be in different systems, to at least prevent plebs from sitting in Jita killing unfitted ships.
CCP should consider creating an InterStellar Council (ISC). This would operate as a focus group including player representatives, providing feedback on proposed ideas, to ensure contests like this actually make sense. They could also discuss various proposals for upcoming patches and discuss their concerns with CCP devs. I think most players anticipated the way this contest would unfold…
@Squizz_Caphinator @CCP_Zelus guys, just out of curiosity but does creating characters, killing them in unfitted ships then recycling their slots to repeat it the next day with new characters sound like its actually taking part in a pvp competition?
Why should recycling to gain a competitive advantage or avoid a penalty (risk losing ships) count for this competition when there are so many people actively taking part?
I really hope CCP actually examines these real solo pvp kills on zkill, because killing an empty ship is obviously just cheating the system..And in no way is real solo pvp. Please @CCP_Zelus do the right thing here.
