I tried really hard to do well in this event without gaming it. Excluding the people farming their alts I would be 3rd in the region I chose to participate in. It feels really bad to work your way up a leaderboard playing fair and then getting your progress nuked by one dude taking 7 places on the leaderboard above you.
If you’re going to run an event do it right or don’t run it. This got me to play a lot more than I otherwise would have this last week, and now it just feels bad.
Do better. I don’t pay a sub for bare bones poorly run events. The prizes on the leaderboard are for few enough people it would be easy to validate those peoples places and prizes.
We could always have a whip round and do some community prizes for the event, I’d be willing to donate plex for it but I dont know who’s a good 3rd party for it sadly.
I could think of a few good judges though, but it might be better if people started videoing themselves over the event then link a video once its done?
Even if the prize pool was low, at least we’d have some really cool videos! Anyone remember the one man army comp years ago?
Several groups have destroyed the CCP’s attempt at something different by cheesing the mechanics to enrich themselves.
CCP , please I mean PLEASE do not give out prizes to people who have killed multiple unfit ships, from either their corp or the same corp over and over again,
If you don’t do this you will lose customers, your promotions will lose creditability whilst only encouraging those who will use any mean necessary to win a prize.
I would almost call what several people are doing as nothing more than an exploit.

if you read my previous comments you would know that i agree with you there 100%. But CCP themselves mentioned it’s ok to create alts and kill them. So, if they change now, then it will be unfair for the people who made alt accounts to get advantage. Once you mention the rules, they cant change it.
If you havent read the FAQ section of event post. go read it again. CCP is 100% ok with this and mentioned directly that it is ok.
They have been gaming the top 3 spots without any actual pvp, just killing empty ships, no fighting involved other than just splattering blank hulls for points.
Save some face. Come up with some prizes for the people that tried to participate in an honest manner. To be clear I don’t have a dog in this hunt. I just see a glaring screw up and damage to a game I love.
