PVP turn off feature

Last time my pod was floating in the Abyss that was the Lucifer Cynaball’s work.

I’ve never been ganked in the abyss before. Tornadoed when leaving the abyss, sure, but IN the abyss? Not one single time.

By timers I hope you also mean the 20 minutes abyssal deadspace collapse timer.

Wrong game, sorry.

Don’t worry, newbros can take a hit. It’s the “Veterans” that cry when they load 100B isk into a cargohold expanded freighter and autopilot it through code space. Though some bittervets are exprienced enough to autopilot a 500B isk loaded orca through lowsec, too.

Newbros lack the resources to render themselves juicy targets for highsec suiciders. The suicider has to dock for 15 min after all, so he needs to pick his targets wisely in order to prevent having to sit in the station with a criminal timer for a mining permit control when a dozen billion isk loaded freighter autopilots through his space 5 minutes later

Why not make it wrong game for PVP-ers this time around ?

This game has always been a PVP game, why would they want to change that? You don’t speak for the majority of players, the only one who ‘might’ have that ability is the CSM who surprise, surprise are mostly from Null Sec alliances who love going to war with each other. Telling EVE players that this is the wrong game for PVP’ers would be like going to a shopping mall and telling the people there that this is the wrong building for shopping.

When has “alienate the existing established customer base in hopes of attracting others” ever worked? A bird in the hand vs two in the bush and all.

Exactly. When Victorias Secret went “woke” and pandered to 1% of their customer base and left out the other 99% of loyal customers, guess what happened? Their stock plummeted, they had layoffs and ended up apologizing for the move. The exact same thing would happen to EVE…

EVE actually has 3 different “PVP turn-off” features. They are called:

Elite Dangerous
No Man’s Sky
Star Citizen

…also EVE Echoes.

lol, EVE Echoes is like Candy Crush, with spaceships…

… that is why it is perfect for carebears. :smirk:

@QuakeGod You seem to spout the usual conspiracy theorys about ganking, made by people who have never ganked. We told you people in multiple threads, many times, why Alpha ganking is not an issue. All these arguments you cite, have been debunked before, multiple times. Why do you keep bringing this up?

CCP can easily ban people circumventing login restrictions. Honestly, once people gank, that would be trivial. This is not a newbro using a Miasmos on a laptop to scoop his trashy mining cans. CCP will enforce this.

Alpha restrictions in general, why should Alpha’s be pvp restricted? If we look at the game as a whole, why should they be further punished and locked away from content?

Please prove rerolling Alpha ganking toons is an issue. We told your kind (miners), many many times, why this is not a viable strategy, it is in fact stupid and nobody does it, or if someone does it, he is stupid and doesn’t need to. Hence not an issue.

Honestly, it’s a strawman argument, made by people who never ganked, do not understand the mechanics behind it and just seek something they can fight against. And in the whole ‘perma green safety brigade’-war, this probably looks like a good battle for newcomers.

But the only thing really accomplishing with this, would be further raise the entry level for people to try out ganking for the first time. This becomes especially true with the usual AG wet dreams like ‘lock out gankers from highsec stations, make the punishment for being -10 bigger’ etc.

Now I ask this: why should ganking not be something (like all other play styles) that you can try with an alpha account to see if you like it?

There is not a single ganking-whine thread without somebody bringing this thing up. Where do you get this misinformation from? How did you come to these conclusions? It’s crazy.

@OP lol, this game is not for you. GL finding something you like.

CCP left RMT for real money alive for years
Why would you think they would care about people circumventing login restrictions
Lets be serious.

@Roxana_Dawn I can turn this around quickly, if this is ignored by CCP and a viable strategy, why are we not seeing it? You can easily tell if a character is Omega by the amount of DPS it is able to do on a fit, how many times he can fire etc.

If you can produce any such killmail, i will be the first to report it together with you and raise alarm publicly. I am paying 11 Omega accounts with ingame money afterall. There is zero interest on my part, of being outdone by other gankers that do not play by the same set of game rules.

If people could turn on/off a pvp flag for themselves, then, people being people, people would only turn it on when they were 100% sure that they were in a situation where they would win.

The long term result of this would be newbie complaining that they were baited into turning on their pvp flags by cruel and clever bitter old vets, and the only thing that would be fair is that there would be no pvp flag at all.

Even if you believe that tinfoil hattery, the RMTers are still paying a sub, whereas alpha multiboxers are not.

Imagine turning off PVP and going deep into null sec and anchoring your station there

But could corps also turn off PvP or only individual players?

:smirk:

The alliance can turn it off. Blue donut of carebear null will turn into non-pvp donut of carebear null.

Would a non-pvp alliance member be allowed to challenge me when I collect my share from their ESS?

Only if you allow it. :face_with_hand_over_mouth:
